The Wedding & Events Vertical includes BridalLive, Total Party Planner, and Aisle Planner, with continued growth expected through product expansion and potential M&A activity. Each business has built strong engineering capabilities within its product, creating a solid foundation for innovation. As the portfolio grows, there is an opportunity to further align engineering leadership, standardize development practices, modernize platforms, and accelerate product innovation—while strategically leveraging AI to improve engineering team productivity and deliver differentiated, AI-enabled capabilities within the products across the vertical.

The Vertical Vice President, Technology, is a senior technology leader responsible for driving engineering execution, operational excellence, and organizational capability across the vertical. This role will provide centralized technical leadership to improve delivery predictability, strengthen platform reliability, and drive adoption of AI-enabled development practices that increase engineering productivity and accelerate innovation.

The VP leads Engineering Managers and a distributed team of engineers and analysts across multiple SaaS products, delivering high-quality, predictable outcomes while building scalable engineering practices that support growth, product innovation, operational efficiency, and long-term platform modernization.

This leader will partner closely with Product and business leaders to strategically leverage AI and automation to:

  • Increase engineering velocity and development efficiency

  • Accelerate delivery of high-quality product capabilities

  • Deliver differentiated, value-creating features

  • Support pipeline generation, customer acquisition, expansion revenue, and retention

Ultimately, this role ensures the technology organization can scale effectively while supporting long-term product innovation, operational efficiency, and revenue growth across the Wedding & Events Vertical.

Primary Responsibilities:

Engineering Execution & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end engineering execution across BridalLive, Total Party Planner, and Aisle Planner.

  • Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery aligned with product roadmaps and vertical business priorities.

  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and QA to drive speed, quality, and measurable customer impact.

  • Align engineering initiatives with growth objectives, including new customer acquisition, expansion revenue, payments attachment, and customer retention.

  • Accelerate development through the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, including code generation, testing automation, and release optimization.

Engineering Excellence, Platform Reliability & AI-Enabled Productivity

  • Establish and uphold standards for code quality, system performance, scalability, and security.

  • Implement best practices for automated testing, observability, incident response, and operational readiness.

  • Drive platform modernization and technical debt reduction across the portfolio.

  • Deploy AI-enabled tools and workflows to increase developer productivity and reduce development cycle time.

  • Foster a culture of craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous improvement supported by data and automation.

Operating Model & Process Leadership

  • Own and evolve Pod & Sprint operating frameworks to optimize collaboration, planning, and delivery cadence.

  • Standardize engineering practices across multiple business units.

  • Continuously evaluate team structure, capacity, and workflows to improve efficiency and throughput.

  • Use data and AI-driven insights to improve estimation accuracy, capacity planning, and delivery predictability.

Talent & Organization Leadership

  • Directly manage Engineering Managers and develop them as strong people and delivery leaders.

  • Build and scale high-performing engineering teams across the vertical.

  • Drive recruiting, onboarding, retention, and performance management.

  • Establish training and expectations around effective use of AI tools to elevate individual and team productivity.

  • Evolve the organization to support scale while increasing autonomy, accountability, and outcome ownership.

Cross-Business & Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a technical thought partner to Product and Business Unit leaders across the vertical.

  • Identify opportunities for shared platforms, infrastructure, data models, and common services across BridalLive, Total Party Planner, Aisle Planner, and Fullsteam.

  • Partner with Product and GTM leaders to prioritize AI-enabled product capabilities that:

    • Improve customer workflows and outcomes

    • Differentiate the platform competitively

    • Create monetizable features or premium tiers

    • Support pipeline generation, expansion opportunities, and customer acquisition

  • Drive responsible adoption of AI and automation to improve both internal efficiency and customer-facing value.

  • Represent Engineering in vertical planning, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership.

  • Experience leading multiple teams or products within a SaaS environment.

  • Proven track record delivering scalable, customer-facing software platforms.

  • Strong experience building and developing Engineering Managers.

  • Demonstrated success improving delivery predictability, operational performance, and engineering quality.

  • Ability to translate business strategy and growth objectives into technical priorities and execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience leading engineering across multiple business units or product lines.

  • Background in vertical SaaS, SMB software, or payments-adjacent platforms.

  • Experience with platform modernization, cloud-native architectures, or complex system integrations.

  • Experience implementing AI-enabled product capabilities, developer productivity tooling, or automation at scale.

  • Experience in growth-stage or multi-product SaaS environments.

Compensation: $165,000 - $180,000 Base Salary
