Leads and scales a global presales engineering organization, developing talent, processes, demos, proofs of concept, and solution architectures. Integrates AI into presales workflows, positions SAP Order Management across ECC and S/4HANA, supports enterprise go-to-market and deal pursuits, informs product roadmaps through field feedback, defines presales KPIs, and partners with Sales, Product, Marketing, delivery, and customer success.
We're hiring a VP of Presales Engineering to shape the future of a high-performing presales program. Reporting to the SVP of Sales with global responsibility, this player/coach will build and lead a world-class presales engineering team while embedding AI across the presale lifecycle — demos, messaging, positioning, and solutioning — to accelerate sales cycles and deepen customer engagement. The role bridges Sales, Product, and Marketing, driving GTM execution, championing DataXstream's Order Management capabilities across SAP ECC and S/4HANA, and channeling structured field feedback into the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow the presales engineering organization, establishing the structure, processes, and career development paths that attract and retain top talent.
- Guide the team in delivering compelling, tailored demonstrations, proofs of concept, and solution architectures.
- Drive the integration of AI into presales — embedding AI-powered capabilities and tooling into demos, messaging, and positioning to differentiate DataXstream.
- Position DataXstream's Order Management capabilities for both SAP ECC and S/4HANA, ensuring the team can credibly address customer requirements across current and migrating SAP landscapes.
- Partner with Sales leadership to support go-to-market activities, including account strategy, deal pursuit, executive engagement, and the development of repeatable presales assets and playbooks.
- Serve as the voice of the field to Product Management, capturing and prioritizing structured customer and prospect feedback to inform the product roadmap and future innovation.
- Collaborate with Marketing to shape technical messaging, value propositions, and competitive positioning that resonate with SAP buyers and decision-makers.
- Define and track presales KPIs — such as technical win rate, demo effectiveness, and time-to-solution — and use data to improve team performance and impact.
- Represent DataXstream at customer meetings, industry events, and partner engagements as a credible technical and thought leader.
- Ensure alignment between presales, delivery, and customer success so that what is sold is consistently and successfully implemented.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in presales, solution engineering, or solution consulting, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing and developing presales or solution engineering teams.
- Deep SAP experience, with demonstrated
expertise positioning Order Management capabilities across both SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
- Proven ability to translate complex enterprise software capabilities into clear, business-focused value propositions for technical and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated success supporting go-to-market and revenue objectives in a B2B enterprise software or SaaS environment.
- Experience leveraging or integrating AI/GenAI into sales, presales, or product workflows — or a clear, credible vision and track record of applying emerging technology to drive results.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence customers, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience establishing structured feedback loops between the field and product development.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to travel as required to support customer engagements and business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP Order Management, order-to-cash, or customer service/counter-sales processes.
- Familiarity with DataXstream's SAP market, or experience selling ISV/add-on solutions in the SAP ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven demo automation, conversational AI, or intelligent solutioning tools.
- Experience scaling a presales function during rapid company growth.
- SAP certifications or equivalent credentials.
- MBA or advanced degree.
