Summary/Objective 

Concerto is seeking a Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Compliance to lead and strengthen the company's quality and regulatory function as we continue to expand our national footprint. This executive will have primary ownership of regulatory compliance, survey readiness, QAPI, clinical quality, patient safety, and policy governance across all dialysis services. 

A critical mandate for this leader is building the infrastructure, processes, and team capabilities necessary to support Concerto at scale. The VP will develop a deep understanding of how work is performed today, work alongside the team and operational partners to identify gaps and challenges, and establish clear, standardized, and sustainable processes that strengthen accountability and enable continued growth. 

The ideal candidate combines deep quality and regulatory expertise with a hands-on, operational mindset. This individual is comfortable moving between executive-level leadership and detailed problem solving, takes ownership of issues through resolution, and translates complex regulatory requirements into practical processes that teams can consistently execute. 

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer. 

Essential Functions 

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance 

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing dialysis services, including CMS Conditions for Coverage for ESRD, HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable requirements. 

• Own and drive survey readiness end-to-end, serving as the primary executive leader for state and federal regulatory surveys and inspection activites. 

• Lead the company's QAPI program and drive measurable improvement in patient outcomes by translating quality and compliance data into actionable improvement plans. 

• Develop and monitor corrective action plans in response to survey findings, audits, adverse trends, and identified quality or compliance gaps. 

• Oversee incident and adverse event reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and follow-through. 

• Own the development, governance, and ongoing maintenance of clinical policies, procedures, and compliance documentation across all facilities. 

• Partner with Legal on regulatory risk management, licensure, accreditation, and other compliance matters. 

Operational Excellence & Scalable Infrastructure 

• Build and continuously strengthen the quality and regulatory infrastructure required to support Concerto's growing national footprint. 

• Work directly with the team, Operations, and cross-functional partners to understand current workflows and identify process gaps, inefficiencies, unclear ownership, and operational risk. 

• Establish and document standardized operating procedures, workflows, controls, and clear accountability across the Quality & Regulatory Compliance function. 

• Translate regulatory requirements into practical, repeatable processes that can be consistently executed across a geographically dispersed organization. 

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or redesign manual processes and reporting, partnering with technology and other functions where appropriate to improve efficiency, visibility, consistency, and reliability. 

• Build systems and processes that maintain quality and regulatory rigor as the organization continues to grow. 

Clinical Quality & Safety 

• Lead clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and infection prevention programs across all dialysis service locations. 

• Guide the development and use of clinical performance dashboards and KPIs to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement. 

• Provide executive oversight and clinical judgment on matters impacting quality, safety, and patient outcomes. 

Cross-Functional Partnership & Accountability 

• Partner closely with Operations and other functional leaders to drive quality and compliance initiatives through implementation and measurable results. 

• Maintain clear accountability for matters within Quality & Regulatory Compliance while establishing shared ownership where outcomes cross organizational boundaries. 

• Translate quality and regulatory requirements into clear, operationally executable expectations for the field. 

• Balance regulatory rigor with practical operational considerations to develop solutions that protect patients and compliance while enabling effective execution. 

Team Leadership & Functional Ownership 

• Lead and develop the Quality & Regulatory Compliance team, establishing clear roles, expectations, decision rights, and accountability. 

• Work alongside team members to develop a firsthand understanding of existing processes, challenges, and capability gaps. 

• Build a culture of ownership in which issues are proactively identified and driven through resolution. 

• Transition the function from reliance on individual knowledge and manual processes to standardized, documented, and scalable ways of working. 

• Assess organizational structure, talent, and resource needs and build the capabilities required to support continued growth. 

Clinical Strategy & External Engagement 

• Contribute clinical and regulatory expertise to the company's broader care strategy, ensuring alignment with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities.  

• Partner with technology, product, and operational teams to ensure technology-enabled clinical pathways and digital health tools appropriately incorporate quality and regulatory requirements. 

• Represent Concerto with regulators, surveyors, accrediting bodies, healthcare partners, boards, and other external stakeholders. 

• Stay abreast of emerging regulatory requirements, quality frameworks, and trends in nephrology, dialysis care, and healthcare technology and assess their implications for Concerto. 

Qualifications 

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive clinical leadership experience with substantial responsibility for quality assurance and regulatory compliance, preferably within dialysis, kidney care, chronic disease management, or another highly regulated healthcare environment. 

• Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or transforming quality and regulatory infrastructure within a multi-site healthcare organization; experience supporting significant organizational growth strongly preferred. 

• Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into standardized, documented, and operationally executable processes across a geographically dispersed organization. 

• Strong operational orientation with the ability and willingness to work at both the strategic and detailed levels to understand problems, develop solutions, and drive implementation. 

• Proven ability to lead and develop teams while establishing a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

• Demonstrated executive presence and experience working with regulators, surveyors, boards, and external partners. 

• Deep knowledge of CMS Conditions for Coverage for ESRD, HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state healthcare regulations, including demonstrated experience with survey readiness, regulatory audits, and corrective action planning. 

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field and active RN licensure required; Master's degree preferred. 

• Experience with ESRD and hemodialysis strongly preferred. 

• CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) or CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) certification preferred. 

• CPR certification required. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

• Must be able to do light lifting of at least 20 lbs. 

• Requires mental, visual, and auditory attention to patients, customers, and staff. 

• Work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. 

• May be exposed to infectious and contagious disease/materials. 

• Requires travel between facilities.
