This role is a newly formed role within the Blue Owl tax function to support continued growth within the Real Assets business, specifically focused on our digital infrastructure products. This role requires strong communication and analytical skills rooted in tax law, with heavy collaboration and teaming with accounting, operations, legal, sales and the product investment teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee US and international tax return compliance with outsourced tax service providers for various products (partnerships, REITs, and corporate entities) including quarterly and annual compliance tests, where applicable

  • Drive internal and external process improvements, data gathering and analytics

  • Review partnership tax allocations and product waterfall allocations for purposes of GP carry, required tax distributions and tracking partnership/partner tax basis and capital accounts

  • Review monthly and projected Cash/GAAP/Tax reconciliations, with focus on building product level taxable income projections

  • Assist with investment deal structuring, including preparing tax analytics and entity formation

  • Drive tax analysis for new product launch structuring, fundraising support and participate in portfolio investment meetings

  • Assist with tax-related product marketing materials, complete and respond to tax-related investor correspondence, including due diligence questionnaires and ongoing reporting requests

  • Respond to tax authority requests and other ad hoc items

  • Drive operational efficiency and process optimization through effective use of AI-enabled tools and automation

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with a strong track record in owning projects with increased responsibility

  • Big 4 and CPA Preferred; REIT experience preferred

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York or Chicago based position will be $175,000 - $200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
