About the Role

As the Vice President of Total Rewards for Uber Freight, you will lead all aspects of total rewards including compensation, benefits, and equity for 4,000 employees across North America, Europe and India.  This role is a critical member of the Uber Freight People Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief People Officer, and serves as a trusted partner and advisor within the HR function and to the business. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership to the team and be accountable for the design, development, enablement, and implementation of the Total Rewards strategy.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Lead the strategic thinking and oversee execution of the Uber Freight Total Rewards function to effectively evaluate, design, propose, implement, and communicate compensation and benefits strategy, programs, policies, and initiatives that competitively position Uber Freight to attract, retain and empower talent. 
  • Responsible for management of all activities, results, and resources within Uber Freight Total Rewards 
  • Accountable for all compensation, benefits, equity, and recognition offerings at Uber Freight 
  • Partner with business leaders, Chief People Officer, CEO and Uber Freight Board of Directors Compensation Committee to define and implement a compelling total rewards strategy 
  • Lead Total Rewards M&A activities including due diligence and integration of compensation and benefits programs 
  • Forecast, manage and report on ongoing share utilization and stock compensation 

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of HR and/or Total Rewards experience with at least 5 years in Total Rewards leadership roles 
  • 6+ years of people management experience  
  • Experience building, leading and working with matrixed teams 
  • Exposure to best-in-class HR from other companies of similar size and stage of transformation

  • Strong communication skills and leadership presence with the ability to tell a story through data to influence at the highest levels 
  • Drive for results with strong prioritization and project management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in change with high change agility and resiliency to manage through setbacks 
  • Ability to apply situational adaptability and shift approach as needed based on business need and/or new information 
  • A deep understanding of the current market including staying ahead of industry-standard methodologies and future trends of both comp and benefits  
  • Technology industry experience 
  • Experience with a mix of start-up and large publicly traded companies 
  • Inspirational executive leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking, and world-class execution capabilities 
  • Strategic problem solver with a can-do attitude
