About Strala

Strala is building the world's first AI-native TPA. Insurance is core to the global economy, yet its foundation - claims - is still characterized by legacy tech and fragmented processes. We are changing that. Strala isn't just a software tool; we are a full-service, AI-powered partner rebuilding the mechanics of risk from the ground up. We are reimagining how claims get handled, using AI to make adjusters dramatically more effective and to scale claims capacity far beyond what legacy models allow. Backed by more than $50M, our team combines the elite technical pedigree of Palantir, Oxford AI labs, Geico, CCC, Hertz, and American National with the deep operational expertise of carriers like Travelers and Progressive. We are looking for a VP of Claims to lead this transformation and define what "modern claims" looks like for the world's largest carriers.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious senior leader as Vice President of Claims - someone with deep experience in P&C claims who wants to build the future of claims with AI, not just apply it. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to build from the ground up. Our mission is to deliver optimal claims outcomes to insurance companies so this leader will be highly influential in making this happen, leading our claims function from strategy through to execution and partnering closely with our engineering and AI teams to translate deep claims expertise into intelligent products. This is a special opportunity to join a well-capitalized company and shape the foundation of a next-generation TPA.

This role combines deep operational ownership with strategic leadership, hands-on AI product collaboration, and customer-facing influence. This is a leadership role and you will be part of Strala's executive team, working directly with Strategy & Operation and Engineering to design and implement claims processes, set our standards of excellence, and be a trusted partner to carriers and MGAs. For an industry leader with a strong foundation in claims, a builder's instinct for technology, and a desire to shape what comes next, this is a chance to build something enduring - with real scale, modern tools, and a world-class team.

What You Will Do

Claims Operations & Systems Buildout

  • Attract, hire and manage high-performance claims teams, workflows, and QA frameworks

  • Leads by example - including when necessary personally handling claims to drive optimal customer outcomes and to inform how our AI products are built

Customer Partnership & Commercial Growth

  • Represent Strala's claims capabilities in sales outreach, RFP, onboarding, and executive discussions

  • Leverage your industry network to drive conversations with carriers, MGAs, and captives

  • Partner closely with Sales to shape SLAs and delivery models tailored to client needs

  • Act as executive sponsor during implementation and long-term customer relationships

Product & AI Strategy

  • Bring firsthand claims expertise into product and engineering discussions as an active, ongoing contributor to how our AI products get built

  • Shape the design of our internal tooling and agentic AI products

  • Define key data capture, workflow, and user experience requirements for adjusters so that claims expertise can be captured, structured, and scaled through technology

  • Apply real-world insight to determine where AI and automation add value - and where human expertise remains essential

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 12+ years experience in P&C claims, ideally spanning auto and liability

  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role at a carrier, TPA, or MGA - preferably during a period of growth or transformation

  • Proven ability to build and scale operational teams and systems from scratch

  • Deep understanding of claims tech stacks, data strategy, and automation

  • Tech-native and genuinely excited by AI - you are fluent working alongside engineers, comfortable with modern AI tooling, and energized by using technology to reinvent how claims are handled

  • Comfortable in external-facing roles and effective at building long-term trust

  • Willing to travel

  • A grounded leader who can operate at both strategic and operational levels

  • Bonus points if you have previously built a new claims department from scratch or have hands-on experience bringing AI or automation into a claims workflow

  • You don't just tolerate an ambitious, fast-moving startup culture - you seek it out, embracing the shift from legacy insurance workflows that we are looking to disrupt to continuous experimentation and break-neck execution.

Why This Role

  • Be an early member of a mission-driven team that is tackling the $280B problem (outsourced claims processing) in one of the world's largest and most important industries

  • Opportunity to shape a core function from the ground up, with strong ownership and influence on both team and product

  • Help define the future of claims technology by helping build the AI behind it, backed by a team of expert builders
