About the Role

Tidal is seeking an experienced ETF Portfolio Manager to oversee the implementation, execution, and ongoing management of a diverse suite of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). This individual will play a critical role in managing both active and index-based portfolios across multiple global asset classes while ensuring portfolios remain aligned with investment objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.

The ETF Portfolio Management team provides comprehensive portfolio management and trading services for ETF issuers. The ideal candidate brings deep experience trading equities, options, and fixed income securities, with a particular emphasis on equities and ETF portfolio management. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
  • Manage the day-to-day implementation and oversight of ETF portfolios across multiple investment strategies.
  • Create, monitor, and execute trade orders using Bloomberg AIM or other institutional Order Management Systems (OMS), ensuring data accuracy and operational integrity.
  • Execute trades across equities, options, and fixed income while maintaining a strong focus on best execution and transaction efficiency.
  • Partner closely with portfolio managers, prime brokers, market makers, custodians, fund accountants, and exchanges to facilitate seamless trading operations.
  • Monitor portfolio activity, reconcile positions and tax lots, and coordinate with Operations to ensure accurate settlement and post-trade processing.
  • Stay current on market developments, macroeconomic events, and evolving trading strategies to support portfolio performance.
  • Evaluate portfolio performance relative to investment objectives, benchmarks, and peer funds.
  • Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows, operational processes, and portfolio management procedures as the business continues to evolve.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work with minimal oversight.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across trading, operations, compliance, and portfolio management.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to a team of AVPs, Associates, and Analysts, fostering collaboration, professional development, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7-10+ years of institutional trading and portfolio management experience, with significant experience managing ETF portfolios.
  • Strong expertise trading equities, options, and fixed income securities, with a primary emphasis on equities.
  • Hands-on experience with Bloomberg AIM and Bloomberg Terminal, or comparable institutional trading and order management platforms.
  • Deep understanding of ETF portfolio construction, trading workflows, market structure, and execution strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with institutional Order Management Systems (OMS), execution management systems (EMS), and post-trade processing platforms.
  • Experience managing or supporting registered investment companies under the Investment Company Act of 1940 (40 Act funds), including ETFs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing ETF trading and portfolio management.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring portfolio management, trading, or investment operations teams.
