About the Role

Supernova Lending is seeking a dynamic Wealth Management Lending Advisor to support the growth of our Securities-Based Lending (SBL) business. This role will serve as the key liaison between financial advisors and their high-net-worth clients, providing expertise in SBL products and solutions. This person will be responsible for building product awareness, identifying lending opportunities, and delivering exceptional service to drive revenue growth across our advisor network.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development
    • Partner with financial advisors to understand their clients' financial needs and identify securities-based lending opportunities within their portfolios
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of SBL opportunities to meet lending targets, including loan commitments, balances, and revenue goals
    • Educate financial advisors on the benefits of incorporating securities-based lending into their advisory practices to enhance client relationships and generate additional revenue streams
    • Work collaboratively with market leadership and credit executives to develop strategies and drive new business opportunities
  • Client & Advisor Relationship Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for financial advisors regarding their clients' securities-based lending needs
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with advisors and client associates, providing consultative guidance on SBL products and solutions
    • Deliver presentations and training sessions to financial advisors to increase product knowledge and adoption
    • Proactively communicate with advisors to identify potential lending needs and propose appropriate solutions
  • Product Expertise & Credit Report
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of securities-based lending products, including securities-backed lines of credit, loan structures, collateral requirements, and risk management principles
    • Serve as a platform expert by maintaining deep knowledge of system capabilities, staying current on feature releases and enhancements, and leveraging technology to optimize the advisor and client experience
    • Understand competitive SBL offerings in the marketplace and position Supernova's solutions effectively
    • Collaborate with underwriting and credit teams to facilitate smooth loan origination and approval processes
    • Assist advisors in preparing loan applications and gathering necessary documentation for credit review
  • Performance Management & Reporting
    • Track and report on key performance metrics including pipeline development, loan commitments, funded balances, revenue generation, and advisor participation rates
    • Analyze business trends and identify opportunities for growth within assigned territory or advisor base
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on lending activity, market trends, and competitive landscape
    • Ensure all lending activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or lending within a financial services environment
  • Demonstrated success in business development with a proven track record of building relationships and driving revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of securities-based lending products, including loan structures, collateral management, margin requirements, and credit risk principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cash management and lending solutions for high-net-worth clients, including understanding of investment portfolios and asset allocation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with financial advisors and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess credit risk, evaluate collateral, and structure appropriate lending solutions
  • Self-motivated with a drive to achieve performance targets while ensuring product suitability and proper risk management
  • Ability to ask probing questions, anticipate advisor and client needs, and take ownership of opportunities through to completion
  • Experience working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clientele preferred
  • Knowledge of competitive lending platforms at major wire houses (Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, etc.) preferred
  • Familiarity with wealth management technology platforms and CRM systems preferred
  • Previous experience in an internal consultant or product specialist role preferred
