G2 is going global.
The Chicago-based software reviews company is opening a new office in London and bringing its business to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) — marking the start of its expansion into international markets.
G2 provides independent user reviews to help companies decide which software or services are right for their business. The platform has more than 750,000 reviews for things ranging from e-commerce platforms to HR management suites, IT outsourcing, analytics software and legal services.
The new London office follows on the heels of a $55 million Series C funding round closed late last year — the purpose of which was to kickstart global expansion. The company expects to grow the London office to 15 employees by the end of the year.
For reference, the company has about 250 employees in Chicago.
To coincide with the London office, G2 also released a list of the best software companies in EMEA. The list uses G2’s proprietary algorithms and methodology for measuring and ranking software. The top five companies in order are: Wix, SAP, Telegram, ESET and Prezi.
“It’s a testament to our belief at G2 that we can help all businesses in their software purchasing decisions, by connecting them to software platforms and services vendors on a global scale,” G2 CEO Godard Abel said in a statement. “Our new London office is an important step toward our goal of becoming the go-to global marketplace for top software platforms around the world.”
