Payline Data gets scooped up by Pineapple

Payment solutions provider Payline Data has been acquired by Pineapple Payments, a payment processing technology company based in Pittsburgh, PA. Payline was founded in 2011 and has grown rapidly, appearing on the 2016 and 2017 Inc. 500 lists. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. [Press release]

The fall funding season starts strong

Chicago tech companies raised $90 million in new funding in October. The month’s biggest round belonged to GTreasury, which raised a whopping $42 million. G2 Crowd (20), Uptake (26) and Sprout Social (36) made LinkedIn’s first-ever Top Companies | Startups list, which ranks the country's 50 most in-demand startups. The list took into account employee growth, job views and applications and LinkedIn member engagement with the startup and its employees.
