Several new changes are coming to the Chicago tech scene; read more to find out what you might have missed last week. This is the Built In Chicago weekly refresh.

LogicGate secured $8.75MIn a round led by Greenspring Associates and Silicon Valley Bank, the risk management platform’s total raised capital to date comes to $40 million. LogicGate’s cloud-based platform helps companies automatically build out and tailor their risk and compliance processes. With the new funding, the startup plans to further its platform and expand its presence in North America and Europe. [Built In Chicago]

RedShelf appoints new executive membersThis edtech company has experienced a high level of growth this year as it aims to efficiently deliver digitized course materials and decrease the cost of college education. Paula Bachman will be stepping up as RedShelf’s chief financial officer, and Nic Mulkey will take on the role of chief technology officer. [PR Newswire]

Cook County employees get Juneteenth offThe decision to honor June 19, a significant date for Black Americans, as a paid holiday was a one unanimous for the Cook County Board and follows similar steps being made by a number of tech companies nationwide. In a year that saw numerous racial justice activities spurred by the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others, Cook County is observing Juneteenth and its purpose of honoring Black Americans and their contributions to the country. [Built In Chicago]

Network Perception raised $2.73MThe Chicago-based startup works to provide infrastructure industries with a software solution for cyber-compliance and network security. With a seed funding round led by Serra Ventures, the company plans to scale its activity in the electric utility industry and more. [FinSMEs]

FoodHaul is partnering with Fabio Viviani. The celebrity chef investor contributed to FoodHaul’s roster of delivery-only virtual restaurant brands as the company works to help keep restaurant and hospitality businesses afloat. By licensing with FoodHaul, businesses can generate revenue by using the kitchens and labor they already have. To date, the company has raised $1.25 million in funding. [Press Release]
