Five companies have opened offices. This year has sparked a lot of discussion about the value of physical office spaces and what the future of work will look like. Bartesian, Applied Systems and Focused Labs are among the tech companies that have opened new Chicago offices in 2022. [Built In Chicago]

Out of Office raised $3.5M. The woman-founded app gained a seed funding round led by Chicago’s Hyde Park Venture Partner. Out of Office allows individuals to plan trips based on friends’ recommendations, adding travel history and reviews. The company expects to double its eight-person team over the year. Milwaukee Tool is hiring in Chicago. Milwaukee Tool, like its name suggests, manufactures conduction power tools out of Milwaukee. The company recently opened an office for its “tech talent” in Chicago’s Old Post Office building and plans to hire more to the team with a focus on engineers. [Built In Chicago]

Kraft Heinz and Microsoft partnered up.  Microsoft and Kraft Heinz have joined forces to to create a more efficient supply chain. More specifically, the companies will create ​​a supply chain control tower, “digital twins” for Heinz’s manufacturing facilities and a digital innovation office. [PR Newswire]

Coro is expanding in Chicago. Coro provides mid-markets with all-in-one cybersecurity protection. The company gained $80 million in funding in the beginning of April that will be going towards its expansion in Chicago. The company plans to add 200 new employees by 2023. Logiwa added to its executive team. The Chicago-based cloud fulfillment platform for D2C businesses hired Mike LaMark as its new vice president of customer success and operations. LaMark has more than 10 years of customer success experience and previously worked for Oracle and BigMachines. Chris Aschman, previously with DataBank IMX and BenchPrep, also joins Logiwa as its new VP of strategic alliances. [Logiwa]
