Elevate K-12 raised $40M. Elevate K-12 developed software that allows school districts lacking teaching staff to remote fill classrooms with an instructor. The platform will enable teachers in another district to give teaching instructions to a classroom through live video calls. With the new funding, provided by General Catalyst, the edtech startup is looking to scale its product. [Built In Chicago]

Workbox was featured in the Future 5 series. Chicago-based Workbox provides workers and companies with office space, snacks and good views of the city, but premium members also get mentorship opportunities and the opportunity to connect with investors who could potentially fund their projects. ReviewTrackers acquired by InMoment. Utah-based InMoment announced that it acquired ReviewTrackers, a Chicago-based software company that specializes in customer feedback. The terms of the acquisition were not made public. With the acquisition, InMoment will be able to give its clients better customer insight and feedback. [InMoment]
