Job Overview

Who We Are
Relativity is a leading legal data intelligence company building technology that helps users organize data, discover the truth, and act on it with confidence. Our AI‑powered, cloud platform, RelativityOne, transforms massive volumes of complex information into actionable insights for litigation, investigations, regulatory inquiries, data breach responses, and other high‑stakes legal work where accuracy and trust are crucial.

The world’s largest law firms, corporations and government agencies rely on Relativity’s legal AI software to securely surface and manage the most relevant and impactful information in their matters. Beyond our commercial impact, we’re deeply committed to expanding access to technology for academic institutions through Relativity Academic and supporting pro bono legal work through Justice for Change.
What We Do
At Relativity, engineers don’t just write code— they harness AI tools to architect, optimize, and deliver scalable software faster and shape the future of legal technology. They shape how industries uncover critical insights, ensure compliance, advance access to justice and continuously evolve our platform using the latest technologies, including cloud-native architectures, AI capabilities, and modern developer tooling. Our AI powers privacy programs, identifies confidential information, and detects language indicating misconduct. We’re reimagining how legal professionals uncover truth at scale, and engineering is at the heart of that transformation.
If you’re passionate about solving hard problems, designing for scale, and building tools that matter. Relativity offers the opportunity to make a measurable difference in the marketplace.

Job Description and Requirements

  • Design, develop, and operate cloud-based services that enable organizations to manage and process data at scale across multiple platforms

  • Build full-stack features across .NET/C# backend services, React/JavaScript frontends, and SQL data layers to support core product workflows

  • Build and maintain integrations with external systems and internal platform services, including third-party cloud data sources, notification providers, and cross-team APIs

  • Plan and execute service and data migrations safely, including schema changes, deployment progressions, and feature transitions in a live production environment

  • Apply cloud-native patterns - containerization, event-driven architecture, and infrastructure-as-code - to deliver scalable and resilient services on Azure

  • Manage and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and drive independent deployments across team-owned services

  • Use observability tooling - structured logging, metrics dashboards, and distributed tracing - to investigate production issues and advocate for system improvements

  • Triage and remediate security vulnerabilities as part of the team's ongoing security posture work

  • Participate in on-call rotations, contribute to incident response, and complete follow-up work to drive continuous improvement

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and adjacent teams to deliver committed sprint work on a regular cadence

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Proficiency in C# and .NET, or a comparable object-oriented language with willingness to ramp on the stack

  • Experience building and operating cloud-based services

  • Ability to work independently through complex features and debug production issues with minimal direction

  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL, including schema change management

Preferred

  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React for full-stack development

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)

  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as New Relic, Splunk, or equivalent APM/logging tooling

  • Exposure to authentication patterns (OAuth2, OIDC, or SAML) in enterprise SaaS applications

  • Experience building or maintaining integrations with third-party APIs or enterprise SaaS systems

  • Familiarity with cloud-native concepts such as containerization, event-driven design, or infrastructure-as-code (Azure preferred)

Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices.
