Responsibilities
  • Develop customized analysis on a broad range of geographically variable conditions to support location strategy consulting assignments for middle market and global Fortune 1000 clients, including aspects such as:
    • Labor market trend analysis at the macro, industry and occupational levels
    • Demographics and migration analysis, compensation and benefits trends
  • Help prepare and deliver analysis results to clients in oral and written presentations.
  • Using our internal toolkits, apply data analytics around client operational data to analyze performance.
  • Connect to a variety of datasets (internal, client-provided) for executive level reports / dashboards.
  • Integrate labor data with other key location metrics on business climate, quality of place, supply chain and commercial real estate.
  • Prepare mapping and workflow analyses and other decision tools.
  • Conduct GIS-based spatial analysis, including site screening, labor catchment, drive-time, and infrastructure proximity.
  • Maintain communication with the client on consulting needs and service client as needed.
  • Provide support for general projects and client account management.
  • Support incentives and economic development engagements as needed.
  • Provide sales support for key pursuits and business development activities.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Economics, Human Resources Management, Finance, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in finance, corporate real estate, planning, real estate development, economic development, logistics, management consulting, or a related discipline
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, including familiarity with demographic and occupational data sources and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, CRE Navigator)
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with experience in project management and process mapping
  • Experience supporting analyses that inform client decision-making.
  • Financial modeling experience
  • GIS mapping experience
  • Hands-on skills with Python, SQL, BI tools, and modern GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Familiarity with labor-market analytics platforms (e.g., Lightcast/Emsi) and economic/fiscal impact modeling (e.g., IMPLAN, RIMS II).
  • Prior consulting or economic development experience
  • MBA or other specialized master's degree

Salary Range Language

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,500 annually.  The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.  In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
