We are looking for a Assistant Production Supervisor for our Schaumburg, IL facility. The responsibility for the Assistant Production Supervisor is working independently and with the direction of the Department Supervisor to plan, direct, coordinate, and control shopfloor activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating the placement of personnel to different positions in the department with a focus on department requirements
- Promote team building, quality, growth, and safety
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of equipment
- Assist and/or coordinate in the training and cross-training of personnel
- Support and encourage 6S
- Production reporting/confirmation of daily work
- Determine resolution to department related issues or concerns and communicate to the team/individual
- Maintain and report daily production data.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Ensure all company policies and guidelines are followed
Requirements
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Perform basic problem-solving tasks which include identifying the problem & communicating verbally & in writing what the problem is and the events prior to the problem
- Perform basic math to include counting, simple arithmetic with whole numbers or decimals, interpreting simple numerical information such as ranges & understanding of basic units of measure including the metric system
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Frequently move parts weighing up to 40 pounds between locations ranging from floor level to a height of 4.5 feet (Use of lifting device for anything exceeding)
- Ability to respond to common inquiries and concerns and effectively speak before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to use SAP and Warehouse Management
- Be a team player who is dependable, corporative, adaptive, & engaging.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED is required.
Safety and Personal Protective Equipment
- Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
- Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.
Position Details:
- 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm
- Hourly rate for this position is $28.00/hr. - $32/hour depending on experience
