At Wi‑Tronix, we’re transforming rail safety, performance, and operations through real‑time insights and intelligent digital products. We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager (APM) who is passionate about solving meaningful problems, enabling empowered product teams, and driving measurable outcomes—not just delivering features.

As an APM, you’ll support a team operating within Wi‑Tronix’s Product Operating Model, turning strategic outcomes into organized and clearly defined work. You’ll blend classic product ownership with modern product management practices rooted in discovery, iteration, and data‑informed decision‑making.

This role is perfect for someone who is naturally curious, highly organized, and eager to grow into a full Product Manager role.

Core Functions

Drive Outcomes

  • Clarify the team’s problem space, goals, and success metrics.
  • Break strategy into small, valuable increments and keep alignment tight.

Ensure Delivery Clarity

  • Prep a clear, well‑scoped backlog centered on real user problems.
  • Refine stories and acceptance criteria with Design & Engineering.
  • Manage dependencies and support defect/Sev triage.

Support Discovery

  • Help plan customer conversations, research, and experiments.
  • Track assumptions, tests, and prototypes.
  • Turn insights into actionable next steps.

Make the Team Data‑Informed

  • Partner on instrumentation and key KPIs.
  • Maintain lightweight dashboards and metrics.
  • Track adoption, usage, and outcome impact post‑launch.

Enable Communication & Alignment

  • Keep product artifacts organized and accessible.
  • Share clear updates on progress, risks, and learnings.
  • Help maintain strong execution hygiene and outcome focus.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2–4 years in a tech environment, B2B or SaaS a must!
  • Experience or exposure to empowered product teams and/or Product Operating Model is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to break down complex problems
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and a drive for outcomes over outputs
  • Basic understanding of Agile and dual‑track discovery/delivery
  • Experience with SaaS, digital products, or data/analytics platforms
  • Ability to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization
  • Technology enthusiast demonstrated through work experience, hobbies, and/or education
  • Agile Mindset – the ability to work in an iterative manner that allows for rapid prototyping, effective feedback loops, and the ability to meet aggressive timelines

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule: Tues–Thurs in Bolingbrook office
  • Must be able to board a locomotive for field research
  • Domestic and international travel may be required

Career Pathways

Your growth matters. This role can lead to:

  • Product Manager → Director → VP → Chief Product Officer
  • Or broaden into: Product Operations, Customer Success, Sales, Implementation
