Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is a commercially minded sales and growth professional who combines strong relationship-building capabilities with a practical, AI-enabled approach to business development. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing qualified sales pipelines, managing Commercial Excellence and CRM initiatives, and converting prospects into long-term customers and strategic partners.

The successful candidate will drive revenue growth through proactive prospecting, consultative selling, market intelligence, and the effective use of AI and automation tools to enhance productivity, insight generation, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify, research, and prioritize new markets, prospective customers, strategic partners, and revenue opportunities.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities and collaborate closely with NASP Sales to accelerate business growth and close new business.
  • Develop and execute outbound business development strategies across email, phone, social media, networking, industry events, and other channels.
  • Create compelling value propositions and tailor messaging to targeted prospects, industries, and market segments.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs, business challenges, buying processes, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, business cases, and commercial recommendations that support customer decision-making and business acquisition.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with prospective customers, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, customer, and opportunity data within the CRM platform.
  • Support Commercial Excellence initiatives by improving business development processes, lead management, reporting, and sales effectiveness.

AI-Enabled Business Development

  • Leverage generative AI and automation tools to improve prospect research, account planning, lead qualification, outreach, proposal development, meeting preparation, and follow-up activities.
  • Use AI-powered insights to analyze markets, competitors, industries, customer signals, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Develop AI-assisted prospecting and personalization workflows that increase productivity while maintaining authenticity and relationship quality.
  • Utilize AI tools to summarize meetings, identify action items, analyze customer conversations, and improve follow-up execution.
  • Explore and implement innovative AI capabilities within Salesforce and related business development workflows to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Critically evaluate AI-generated information and verify key facts before presenting recommendations to customers or internal stakeholders.
  • Promote the effective adoption of AI-enabled practices that strengthen commercial performance and customer engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in generating qualified leads, developing pipeline opportunities, and closing new business.
  • Strong consultative selling, relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of market research, competitive analysis, and strategic business planning.
  • Experience utilizing AI, automation, and digital tools to improve sales productivity and business development outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
