Title: Business Development Representative ManagerAbout this Job

As a BDR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving pipeline growth by leading, developing, and scaling a team of Business Development Representatives.

We’re seeking a hands-on leader who can build and run a high-performing outbound engine. You’ll own team performance, coach reps on process and skill development, and hold the team accountable through both highs and lows. In addition to managing, you’ll help recruit and onboard new talent while building the playbooks that enable the team to scale effectively. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building teams from the ground up, this is the role for you.

Objectives of this Role
  • Build and run a high-performing BDR pod that consistently hits meeting and pipeline targets
  • Coach reps on process and skill development to grow AE-ready talent
  • Reduce ramp time through structured onboarding and hands-on coaching
  • Develop scalable systems and playbooks to support team growth
  • Provide clear, data-driven visibility into performance and pipeline health

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Own team performance by tracking rep progress, pipeline health, and proactively addressing gaps
  • Run team meetings, 1:1 coaching meetings, and performance check-ins to drive accountability
  • Develop BDR talent through hands-on coaching, 1:1s, and structured skill-building
  • Hold reps accountable while building clear paths to promotion
  • Own hiring for your pod, from interviews through final decisions, while refining the ideal candidate profile
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve messaging, tooling, and overall funnel performance
  • Build and document scalable systems and playbooks to support team growth

Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing a BDR/SDR team
  • Background as a full-time, quota-carrying seller — able to coach reps toward a full sales career, not just top-of-funnel activity
  • Proven ability to coach both process and skill — not just motivate
  • Data-driven approach: uses pipeline and activity metrics to diagnose problems and drive decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to hold a team accountable through misses while maintaining morale
  • Experience scaling a BDR team in a high-growth environment preferred
  • Background building or scaling a BDR function at an early-stage company is a strong plus

Energy CX Company Culture

Our culture is not for everyone. It is designed for people who want to grow fast, take ownership and raise the bar every day.

At Energy CX, we don’t just work—we challenge each other to solve hard problems, innovate boldly and keep improving. We believe in personal growth, extreme accountability and building a team of exceptional people who push one another to be better.

We live by The Four Forces of Innovation — the levers that power innovation at scale:

Higher Standards - Raise the Bar
Excellence isn’t reserved for launches or headlines. It’s how we communicate, plan, and follow through.

We value ownership, prioritization, focus, discipline, effective communication, action, efficiency, resourcefulness and maximizing value.

Innovate It - Think Differently
Innovation isn’t about flashy ideas, it’s about taking on new challenges and outgrowing what no longer serves. At Energy CX, we are experimenting constantly and building what the customer actually needs—especially when it breaks what came before.

We value curiosity, experimentation, collaboration, bold thinking, long-term vision, customer centricity and simplicity.

Continuous Growth - Better Every Day

Growth is not perfection – it's our commitment to get better every single day. No matter how successful we become, we stay open, driven and aware that mastery is a process. We improve with feedback and through failures.

We value grit, transparency, resilience, fulfillment, constant learning, and being one team.

Do Good - Leave It Better
Doing good is about serving others and creating lasting impact. The good we do doesn't usually return to us directly – and that's the point. We believe that every system we strengthen, every teammate we invest in and every customer we guide creates an impact we may never see. But we do it anyway because our work extends far beyond today.

We value humility, community, kindness and leaving every person and project better than we found them.

The Deal at Energy CX

Our culture rewards personal growth and performance. If you want comfort, predictability or an easy path, this isn’t the place for you. If you want to push boundaries, grow faster than you thought possible and help reinvent how the world buys energy, you’ll thrive here.

We are seeking exceptional individuals to join us.
