## Role Summary
American Cyber is seeking a Business Development Manager (Independent Contractor – 1099) to support growth initiatives within the New York region. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing new business opportunities through a structured, relationship-driven approach. You will work closely with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to build qualified pipeline, secure new customers, and expand regional market presence—while maintaining autonomy over how you execute services in alignment with agreed objectives.

* Regional focus: New York, NY
* Travel: Required as needed for customer meetings, partner activities, and industry events
## What You’ll Do
* Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, outbound outreach, and strategic lead generation
* Research target accounts, industries, and buying centers to inform outreach strategy and prioritization
* Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations
* Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on go-to-market initiatives, campaigns, and account planning to accelerate pipeline creation
* Represent American Cyber’s solutions and services, aligning offerings to customer needs, risk profiles, and compliance requirements
* Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to generate leads and strengthen partnerships
* Maintain accurate pipeline activity in CRM systems, including next steps, deal stage progression, and forecasting inputs
* Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and solution overviews tailored to client objectives
* Support negotiation of commercial terms in coordination with internal stakeholders
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
* 5+ years of business development experience; cybersecurity industry experience strongly preferred
* Demonstrated success sourcing, developing, and closing new business opportunities in B2B environments
* Strong understanding of B2B sales methodologies, including prospecting, discovery, qualification, and pipeline management
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including experience engaging executive-level stakeholders
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate client needs into actionable solutions
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams
* Willingness to travel as required
## Engagement Terms (1099 Contractor)
* This role is structured as an independent contractor (1099) engagement and does not constitute an employment relationship
* You retain discretion over the manner and means of performing services, consistent with agreed deliverables and timelines
* Compensation structure (e.g., base retainer, commission, or hybrid model) will be defined in a separate agreement
* Contractor is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, and business expenses unless otherwise specified
