The Category Manager is a key member of the North America (NA) Go to Market Team at McCain. This role will be the trusted category partner for customers, building specific recommendations that drive a positive category outcome, making McCain the supplier of choice to partner with and in turn achieving disproportionate growth for McCain. The role requires a blend of strong analytical acumen, strategic thinking, exceptional execution, commercial business savvy and hands-on, detailed involvement in the day-to-day business.
What You'll Do:
- Bring the Category input as critical contribution to the development and shape of the Company's annual operating plan and Business Unit (BU) (i.e. Potato, Appetizer)
- Collaborate with Channel Lead, Channel Managers and cross-functional Customer Team to shape the Category elements of the Customer Joint Business Plan and Customer Growth Plan
- Identify the components of respective Category Plans and Channel Plans that apply to strategic Customers
- Own the development, implementation, and maintenance of category specific, effective and efficient executional plans to further McCain customer engagement and reputation to drive sustained commercial growth in line with the company strategic plan
- Influence targets (i.e. listings, distribution, promotions) for new propositions and changes to existing propositions to ensure Commercial and Category relevance for specific Customers and prepares Category elements of customer engagement plans in support of overarching Company growth plan
- Responsible to partner with channel lead, culinary team, and sales analysts, to leverage this broad skill set and technical expertise to deliver a truly unique and differentiated experience to grow the Category through unique McCain solutions
- Monitor, track and evaluate operational dimensions of the sales execution in the Category with a North America and Business Unit lens as part of target setting and planning
- Deliver commercial and sales insight and value-added analyses, providing meaningful information that contributes to management decision making and execution
- Adhere to commercial controls and processes that support consistent sales execution in market, ensuring an integrated and coordinated approach across all commercial processes
- Be responsible for the business reporting, analyses, and adapted action plans related to the Category, sharing with the Channel Managers, Channel Leads and Sales counterparts on business results
- Accountable for the implementation of Category specific plan and initiatives that aligns with annual and long-term plans to support the overall success of McCain meeting/exceeding business objectives.

Qualifications:
- University Graduate
- Minimum 5+ years solid commercial experience
- Experience working in commercial division of a global organization; Prior work experience in the food industry strongly preferred
- Performance driven, high sense of urgency and delivery; executing at speed, 'getting things done'
- Ability to influence at all levels and across a matrix organization
- Entrepreneurial - embraces opportunities, tackles problems, and uses own initiative

- Data literate - able to interpret and 'translate' data and insights into meaningful implications and actions. Strong knowledge of data manipulation, database design, foundational data analytics and data platform structures; ability to manage large data sets & databases
- Creative storyteller who can effectively communicate and inspire relevant to the stakeholder need
- Resilient - able to absorb and adapt to a changing environment
- Adept at decision-making and adaptability in executing key business objectives

- Excellent commercial skills, including data analysis, planning and forecasting

Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
