Description

HYDAC is a fluid power leader that specializes in the design and development of custom solutions for the mobile and industrial markets. We are currently seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Glendale Heights CNC machine shop. The Manufacturing Engineer will design and commission processes to assist with New Product Introduction. They will support the shop floor. They will ensure that design standards are being met. They will practice cost and productivity improvements. Finally, they will coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organizational, control, integration, and completion of projects.  We offer a medical, dental, vision PPO health benefits, pet insurance, matching 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).  The salary range for this position is between $70-90k.

Tasks:

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing departments.
  • Develop new processes for new product introductions.
  • Design and ensure that production assembly and test methods are optimized and are consistent in meeting our cost targets.
  • Develop assembly and detail tooling drawings, floor layouts, and manufacturing cells.
  • Check drawings and design work as needed.
  • Assist Materials Department in the selection of vendors.
  • Establish product acceptance criteria through preproduction runs.
  • Work with vendors to ensure the most economical manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Assist the Quality Department in the development of procedures and work instructions.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc. in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to  deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.  Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability  to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determinations of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation, techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Knowledge of design software (SolidWorks), database software, MS windows, and MS Word and Excel (Minitab a Plus).
  • Able to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Ability  to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Blueprint interpretation.
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance is required. Familiar with computer-based system operation.
  • Knowledge of APQP, manufacturing and quality processes and capabilities.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability  to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, client, customers, and the public.
  • Self-starter and Motivator: Able to develop effective cross functional relationships.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations. Listens and gets clarification.
  • Responds well to questions.
  • Participates  in meetings.
  • Writes clearly and informatively.
  • Presents numerical data effectively.
  • Able to read and interpret written information.
  • Cad-Cam software, fixture and tool design experience, knowledge of materials, root cause analysis.
  • Other assigned duties.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Technology degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years prior Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
