SUMMARY:
The Communications Specialist I will be responsible for managing and executing communications for our corporate initiatives. This includes creating and implementing communication strategies, supporting executive communications, developing agency team updates and crafting sales enablement tools and training. The individual will work closely with company executives and other stakeholder, ensuring clear and effective communications to enhance understanding, drive engagement and foster an environment of collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches, Writes, and Disseminates information about major initiatives.
Completes recurring, complex, and companywide projects and ad hoc requests.
Maintains and Expands network of contacts on assigned beat.
Generates steady supply of story ideas for associate communications
Conducts interviews by phone and e-mail.
Takes photographs as needed, or Obtains art from other sources, to illustrate own articles or others.
Masters software and takes regular turn preparing Gnie and email content.
Expands understanding of GEICO’s business and industry.
Products an associate communications vehicle (Plaza Weekly, ERG event invitations, ICYMI, etc.)
Gathers all necessary data and materials.
Writes copy and take/obtain photos/artwork as needed.
Ensures first-rate quality of product.
Meets production deadlines.
Adheres to GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.
Meets attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Must have the following education or experience:
Bachelor's degree required, degree focus in English, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field is preferred

Annual Salary
$56,375.00 - $101,475.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
