Black Girl Vitamins | Reports to VP of Performance Marketing | Chicago, full-time

About Black Girl Vitamins

Black Girl Vitamins is one of the fastest-growing wellness companies in the country, and the first supplement brand built specifically for Black women. We started as a direct-to-consumer business and now reach our community through our website, Amazon, and Walmart, with a subscription base of women who stay with us for years because we were built for them.

Our customers do more than buy from us. Fifteen thousand of them gather in our Facebook group, and many more talk with us, and with each other, on Instagram, TikTok, and our own channels. The next chapter is turning that conversation into a community that shapes how we market, launch, and build products. This role exists to make sure every woman in it feels heard, and that what she tells us reaches the people who can act on it.

The role

Today, our community is highly engaged, but conversations happen across several channels, our most loyal customers are not yet organized into a program, and what customers tell us does not consistently reach the teams who build and market our products.

You will change that. From the daily conversation in our Facebook group to the insights that shape our next launch, the community is yours. You are not a social media scheduler. You are the person who builds relationships with our customers, turns our most engaged ones into advocates, and makes sure her voice is part of the decisions we make.

What you will do

Own the daily conversation. Run the day-to-day experience of our 15,000-member Facebook group and engage with customers in Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook comments and DMs. Speak for BGV in a way that is helpful, culturally relevant, and human.

Know when BGV should show up. Spot the questions, conversations, and moments where BGV should take part, and respond quickly.

Build our superfan program. Identify our most engaged customers, build relationships with them, and create a program that turns them into advocates and organic ambassadors, with early launch access, product gifting, and referrals.

Give her a reason to come back. Create recurring programming: webinars with medical and wellness experts, Q&As, challenges, contests, product education, and community conversations.

Bring the community into our launches. Partner with Brand, Social, and Growth so our community takes part in launches, promotions, referrals, and focus groups, with superfans first.

Bring her voice inside. Surface recurring questions, objections, needs, and product requests, and share them with Product, Creative, Growth, Retention, and CX in a regular insights report. Use the community to test new products, concepts, and campaigns.

Keep the operation running. Track community programs, events, ambassador engagement, and product gifting, and report weekly and monthly on engagement, participation, content volume, and sentiment.

What you own and what you do not

You own the community experience across our Facebook group and social comments and DMs, the superfan and ambassador program, community programming, and the customer insights that come from it.

Brand and Social own the brand voice, content calendar, and campaign creative. Growth owns paid media and retention marketing. CX owns order and account support. Strategic Brand Partnerships owns partnerships with brands, institutions, and sponsors. This role is where our relationship with individual customers is built, and where what she tells us becomes something the business can use.

Your authority

You speak for BGV in our community every day. Within the approved budget, you decide what programming runs, who joins the superfan program, and when a conversation needs someone else on the team. When a community issue needs leadership attention, you raise it quickly, with a clear view of what is happening and what you recommend.

Who you are

You have the experience. 3 to 5 or more years in community, social, brand, or customer engagement at a consumer brand, including an online community, ambassador program, or highly engaged social audience you managed yourself.

You build relationships. You know the difference between engaging an audience and building a relationship, and our customers can tell you are on their side.

You turn conversations into insight. You can read hundreds of comments and tell the product team what matters most, with examples.

You are organized. You keep trackers, gifting, and reporting accurate, and you use the data to decide what to run next.

You know our customer. You understand the lived experiences, interests, and wellness concerns of Black women and can represent BGV naturally and authentically. Experience with consumer, wellness, beauty, or CPG brands is a plus.

Your first 90 days

30 days: You own daily engagement across the Facebook group, Instagram, and TikTok, with responses in under five hours during peak hours. You have identified our 100 most engaged members and held our first expert webinar and customer focus group.

60 days: Our superfan and ambassador program is live, and a regular customer insights report reaches Product, Creative, Growth, Retention, and CX.

90 days: Our community is part of an upcoming launch plan, community-driven revenue is tracked through referral codes and promotions, and you have presented a plan for the next quarter.

How you will be measured

Three numbers. The growth and health of our Facebook community and social channels, including response time and quality. Growth in superfan and ambassador participation. And the commercial impact of community-led programs, tracked through referrals, launch participation, and community promotions. We will also look at how often insights from the community change a product, campaign, or launch decision.

Compensation and location

Base salary of $80,000 to $95,000, plus a performance bonus. This is a full-time role based in Chicago.

Hiring process

A short application, a screening call, a conversation with the hiring manager, and presentation.

How to apply

Send your resume and a short answer to this question: Tell us about a challenging growth project you worked on. What was the outcome?
