We are seeking a Consulting Project Manager - Oil, Gas, & Energy within ISD, to join our team in a role that drives customer satisfaction and represents Microsoft at the highest levels. This position plays a critical part in analyzing customer feedback and advocating as the voice of the customer, working closely with senior and executive stakeholders to ensure delivery and resolution of complex delivery. You will lead the initiation and execution of complex multi-track programs for top-tier Oil, Gas and Energy customers by securing and coordinating delivery resources, managing detailed work breakdown structures, and driving alignment with customer plans and influencing long term strategies. This role also includes overseeing partner contracting processes, contributing to resource selection and onboarding, shaping growth opportunity and guiding the development of comprehensive program plans. You will manage key project metrics, risks, and financials while ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of some of Microsoft’s most impactful projects. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute across domains and geographies, sharing knowledge and influencing industry practices. 

 

The role offers remote work arrangements with 0 days per week in-office and requires 25-50% travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities
  • You will envision, develop and deliver transformative opportunities with the client by establishing a deep understanding of customer and business needs based on the future direction of the industry and effectively draws on internal assets (e.g., account team, business lines, collateral) to help to bring the best original and most relevant ideas to the customer.
  • You will work with the client to build an understanding of pain points and create a plan to resolve them by implementing digital transformations and identify possible hurdles/barriers to obtaining objectives and provide insights on how to avoid them.
  • You will provide executive leadership and oversight to execute a plan that delivers quality solutions for the largest strategic accounts. Identifies and implements the correct governance/delivery operating model and utilizes appropriate metrics for tracking customer satisfaction and puts feedback mechanisms in place in order to track solution success. Monitors solution roll-out, making adjustments/escalates when necessary and drives systemic improvements based on feedback mechanisms.
  • You will use industry benchmarks and tangible results desired to measure success as you drive value for customer through solution delivery while driving incremental cloud consumption and track key outcomes that drive cloud consumption and drive opportunity identification and delivers on the financial commitments of the Operation Model (Consumption Revenue, Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) Direct Azure Impact, Delivery Value, Industry Solutions (IS) Billed Revenue), partnering with Area Consulting Leaders to establish controls to meet profit and loss (P&L) accountabilities.
  • You will drive innovation through thought-leadership in customer industries (e.g., retail). Establishes self as a trusted advisor to executive decision makers and identify and invests in relationships with executive decision makers. Understands and articulates innovations and trends from an industry perspective.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 5+ years experience in project management
    • OR equivalent experience.

 

Additional or preferred qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 12+ years experience in project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP or PMP) certification.
  • 8+ years financial management experience (e.g. profit and loss)
  • 6+ years leadership experience in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the Oil and Gas Industry 
  • Possesses executive presence and ability to communicate strategic value to C-level audiences.
  • Agile certification, Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Professional Scrum Master One (PSM1) certification.
  • Experience with industry specific technologies (e.g. ADME)
  • Experience working in large‑scale ISV, platform‑centric or hyperscaler technology environments.
  • Experience in creating and managing intellectual property (IP).
  • Experience in creating publications.

 


Consulting Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,500 - $214,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $154,500 - $231,700 per year.
