Corporate Events Technology Specialist

Position Summary

The Corporate Events Technology Specialist serves as a trusted technology partner for corporate events, executive meetings, conferences, town halls, and hybrid experiences. This role works closely with event planners, marketing and communications partners, administrative teams, vendors, and internal technology organizations to understand event objectives and recommend technology solutions that support successful outcomes.

Acting as a bridge between stakeholders and technical delivery teams, the Corporate Events Technology Specialist is responsible for gathering requirements, consulting on event technology strategies, coordinating readiness activities, and ensuring a seamless experience from planning through execution. This role also contributes to the growth and continuous improvement of the Corporate Events Technology program through process development, metrics, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate combines strong customer service and communication skills with event technology knowledge and a passion for helping teams deliver exceptional meeting and event experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Event Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a primary technology consultant for internal stakeholders planning meetings, conferences, executive events, town halls, and hybrid experiences.
  • Partner with event planners, communications teams, administrative professionals, and business stakeholders to understand event objectives and requirements.
  • Recommend technology solutions based on event goals, audience size, format, venue, and participant experience.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide guidance throughout the event planning lifecycle.

Event Technology Planning & Coordination

  • Gather, document, and communicate event technology requirements to internal support teams and external partners.
  • Coordinate end-to-end technical readiness activities across AV, conferencing, streaming, networking, and event support teams.
  • Facilitate planning meetings, tech reviews, dry runs, and post-event debriefs.
  • Ensure event details, technical requirements, and support expectations are clearly communicated and documented.

Program Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Track event demand, utilization trends, stakeholder feedback, and operational metrics.
  • Develop reporting and insights that support capacity planning, resource forecasting, and program growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, documentation, and stakeholder experiences.
  • Assist in developing standards, playbooks, templates, and best practices for event technology services.

Event Execution Support

  • Support live events, dry runs, and production activities as part of the event delivery team.
  • Participate in control room operations and event execution activities when needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of conferencing, streaming, collaboration, and event technology platforms.
  • Assist with issue resolution and troubleshooting during critical meetings and events.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in event technology, conference services, event operations, AV support, hospitality technology, executive meeting support, or a related client-facing role.
  • Experience working with corporate meetings, conferences, hybrid events, or executive programs.
  • Strong communication, consulting, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to assess business needs and translate them into practical technology solutions and support plans.
  • Experience coordinating projects, stakeholders, vendors, and operational resources in fast-paced environments.
  • Working knowledge of conferencing, streaming, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Teams Town Hall, Webex, Zoom, ON24, or similar technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable supporting live events, production environments, and event execution activities when required.
  • Experience with reporting, metrics, process improvement, or operational analysis is preferred.

Salary Range:

$95,600 - 162,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
