As a Data and Analytics Architect, you will partner with business, functional, and technical teams to shape and govern Medline’s data and analytics solutions. You will drive sound integration patterns, evaluate new platform capabilities, and provide technology leadership to ensure designs are scalable, secure, resilient, cost-effective, and aligned to enterprise standards.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Define and evolve reference architecture, integration patterns, and solutions that align with business objectives and architecture principles

  • Provide architectural review, guidance, and decision support to ensure solutions are consistent, compliant, and supportable

  • Evaluate tools and features, account for the trade-offs and risks; systematically track risks and plan mitigation

  • Partner with Cloud & Infrastructure Architects, Enterprise Architecture, and leadership stakeholders to deliver compliant, well-governed solutions and continuously improve technology posture

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve reference architecture and integration patterns for data and analytics solutions across Medline’s ecosystem.

  • Evaluate new features, capabilities, and tools; assess fit within Medline’s technology ecosystem, including clear articulation of trade-offs and recommendations.

  • Ensure systematic delivery and documentation of designs and architecture decisions (including rationale, assumptions, and constraints), adhering to Medline’s standards.

  • Build and maintain decision matrices and evaluation criteria to enable consistent tool and feature adoption decisions.

  • Provide technology leadership to implementation teams, unblocking delivery by resolving architecture and engineering obstacles.

  • Understand common integration challenges (data movement, latency, reliability, security, and operational support) and guide teams on practical approaches to overcome them.

  • Collaborate with Cloud & Infrastructure Architects and Enterprise Architecture to design compliant, well-governed, supportable solutions that meet enterprise standards.

  • Present and participate in design review forums, such as SRB, TRB, DARB, and technology discussions with leadership to drive alignment and informed decisions.

  • Manage technology risks by tracking them effectively and supporting mitigation planning through clear inputs and options for leaders.

  • Conduct architectural reviews of solutions proposed by delivery teams and provide actionable feedback to improve quality and consistency.

  • Apply well-architected fundamentals—stability, resilience, scalability, security, and cost optimization—to solution designs and reviews.

  • Use AI-assisted techniques and tools to enhance solution delivery, accelerate analysis, and improve team productivity.

  • Stay current with evolving cloud, data, and analytics technologies; continuously evaluate opportunities to improve Medline’s technology strategy and posture.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years in Data Warehousing, Data Engineering & Analytics Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of Cloud data architecture (preferably Azure)

Required Skills

  • Strong experience designing solutions in the Azure Data & Analytics ecosystem (e.g., Microsoft Fabric/Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS, Azure SQL, Event Hubs/streaming, Purview, Power BI).

  • Self-driven and self-managing; able to operate with limited direction and handle multiple priorities.

  • Ability to understand and clearly articulate goals, objectives, and problem statements.

  • Methodical approach from problem to solution options to recommendation, including trade-off analysis and decision documentation.

  • Accountable and takes ownership of recommendations, ensuring they are supported through implementation to successful fruition.

  • Willingness to be hands-on as needed (PoCs, prototypes, spike investigations) to validate feasibility and accelerate delivery.

  • Very strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills; ability to work across teams and within delivery squads.

  • Quick learner with strong affinity for learning new technologies and translating them into practical adoption guidance.

  • Comfort working with implementation teams in their SDLC model (Scrum, Kanban, and/or waterfall) and participating in key ceremonies as needed.
