The DC Supervisor is responsible for supervising the assigned warehouse department by customarily and regularly directing the work of at least two or more full-time associates. The individual in this position will oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities, implement productivity, quality, and customer service standards, and achieve the appropriate level of production within established time limits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To Perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential function.

  • Supervisor plans, organizes, daily activities of the assigned warehouse.

  • Safely and efficiently operate a forklift and other motorized equipment, adhering to OSHA safety regulations.

  • Support with the measuring, tracking, and reporting on quality and productivity of assigned department(s).

  • Supervise the direct storage of products, inventory activities, shipping and receiving, loading, and unloading, cycle counts, incoming and outgoing receipts and documentation, and other warehousing related activities.

  • Communicate skillfully using a variety of mediums.

  • Accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems.

  • Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed.

  • Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs.

  • Recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems.

  • Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.

  • Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement.

  • Use independent judgment to ensure that team members follow company policy and maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and promptly resolving violations, including initiating, or recommending rewards and discipline as needed.

  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.

  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

  • Work additional hours and/or days as needed, particularly during high volume periods, to ensure that warehouse objectives are accomplished.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

  • Lead and inspire team members; must be able to relate to and build team working relationships.

  • Exhibit familiarity with warehouse work and safety procedures. Demonstrate organizational and project supervisory skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with an eye for detail.

  • Effectively manage projects and meet deadlines from origin through execution.

  • MAS literacy, thorough knowledge of RF scanner and WMS systems functionality, and a broad working knowledge of distribution center processes and operation.

  • Be an entrepreneurial self-starter with a hands-on approach towards business.

  • Efficiently perform accurate mathematical calculations.

  • Demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1+ year of team lead experience., preferably warehouse experience.

  • Must be able to obtain forklift license through Highline Warren Distribution.

  • Remain in a stationary position while performing shipping/receiving duties.

  • Regularly move about and transport products weighing up to fifty (50) pounds when picking products.

  • Manipulate products on pallets, using force of up to forty (40) pounds.

  • Position self to retrieve products and materials from ground level.

  • Reach overhead to access and break up pallets.

  • Operate, position, and use a wide variety of hand tools and equipment.

  • Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and have the ability to exchange detailed information.

  • Move about in a warehouse and manufacturing facility to observe and effectively communicate with team members and perform job duties.

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS

The environmental conditions described here are representative of those the associate encounters while performing the Essential Functions of the job.

  • While reviewing operations and associate work practices, the individual will also be expected to work in a warehouse environment, which may include being exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, dust, and extreme heat or cold.
