Common and Baseline Responsibilities
  • Uses enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
  • Assists in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team. 
  • Generates drawings under supervision for schematic design, design development, and construction documents. 
  • Performs product research and assists team with material selections.
  • Exercises critical and creative judgement and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials.
  • Uses a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way. 
  • Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. 
  • Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
  • Takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities.
  • Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.

Obtaining your architectural license will result in a title change to Architect II. It does not predicate your title to Project Architect automatically. Advancement to subsequent positions is contingent upon fulfilling the requirements of that role. See corresponding job description for requirements.

  • Preparing for ARE and active involvement in AXP
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required

Salary Range Information

We additionally review our pay practices, conduct pay equity audits, and ensure our managers are trained in our pay practices on an annual basis. At the time of posting this job advertisement, commensurate with qualifications, the annual pay salary range for this position in Chicago is between $63,000 and $70,000.
