Role Summary
Geneva Trading is seeking a Linux-heavy DevOps Engineer to architect the build infrastructure for our trading systems. This is a hybrid role: you will optimize the boundary between high-performance hardware and the Linux OS, managing everything from automated RTL synthesis pipelines to low-latency network drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Build & Pipeline Automation: Architect CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab) for workflows, automating synthesis, timing analysis, and bitstream generation.
- Linux & Network Optimization: Tune the host OS for ultra-low latency, specifically configuring Solarflare/OpenOnload adapters and optimizing kernel bypass networking.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage and scale Linux-based build farms (Slurm/LSF) to handle computationally intensive compiles (Vivado/Quartus).
- Hardware/Software Debugging: troubleshoot board bring-up issues, PCIe enumeration, and driver conflicts alongside trading system engineers.
- Tooling: Write robust automation scripts in Python and Tcl to glue together EDA tools, operating systems, and monitoring dashboards.
Requirements
- Linux Internals: 5+ years of deep Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS). Must understand kernel modules, drivers, and system tuning.
- Familiarity: Experience with Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus workflows (command line/scripting focus).
- DevOps Toolkit: Strong proficiency in Python, CI/CD (Jenkins), and configuration management (Ansible).
- Networking: Experience managing accelerated network cards (Solarflare, Mellanox) and multicast environments.
Benefits and Compensation:
Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $200,000 + eligible for performance-based bonus.
The final salary determination will be dependent on the successful candidate's skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Beyond the base salary, our full-time employees receive a competitive total rewards package, including a comprehensive benefits program.
