Job Description
The Director, Financial Reporting is a leadership role within GGP’s corporate Finance & Accounting function, reporting to the Vice President of Financial Reporting. This role holds organizational accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of GGP’s consolidated financial reporting to its parent entity, Brookfield Property Partners, in support of approximately $30 billion in retail property investments across the U.S.
ResponsibilitiesOversee all consolidated reporting requirements for Brookfield Property Partners across multiple bases of reporting, including IFRS, GAAP and ICA reporting.
Ensure timely submissions of all reporting deliverables and regular coordination with the appropriate department contacts to effectively communicate expectations.
Manage a team of at least eight professionals, including oversight of workloads, project execution and resource allocation utilizing the Company’s project management tool.
Own and manage the relationship with Brookfield Property Partners by ensuring timely reporting and proactively addressing their questions or requests for additional information.
Perform financial analyses on a consolidated and proportionate basis outlining drivers of quarterly variance analytics.
Prepare presentations summarizing key drivers of NOI and FFO.
Review significant transactions, perform technical accounting research and document the Company's position through formal accounting memoranda, as needed.
Continuously evaluate and improve reporting processes and system capabilities, identifying opportunities to drive efficiency and adapt to evolving business needs.
Translate strategic direction from leadership into actionable plans and effectively delegate responsibilities to achieve desired outcomes.
Coordinate with internal audit and the cross-functional teams to ensure controls are properly integrated and working effectively.
Manage the relationship with external auditors, ensuring timely responses to audit requests and proactive resolution of audit-related matters.
Proactively perform issue management by gathering relevant information and proposing solutions.
In conjunction with the Tax and Treasury departments ensure compliance with Canadian tax legal entity protocols.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
CPA designation required, with extensive knowledge of public reporting requirements under applicable accounting standards.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in public accounting, preferably with a Big Four firm.
Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a small to mid-size team.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines and ad-hoc requests as required.
Expertise in technical accounting research and analysis as well as public financial reporting requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe complex accounting concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to challenge conventional approaches, drive innovation and improve business processes.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Preferred Qualifications
Real estate experience preferred.
Experience with both GAAP and IFRS preferred.
Experience with Yardi enterprise system a plus.
Compensation
Salary type: Exempt
Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
Annual Base Salary Range: $165,000 - $205,000
Annual Bonus: 25%
