Team Overview

The AI Platforms team is responsible for building foundational AI capabilities within TransUnion’s central platform organization. This team enables scalable, modern, and automated platform capabilities that help product, technology, and business teams deliver AI-enabled solutions to customers. This role reports to the VP, AI Platforms. This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of foundational AI platform capabilities that enable TransUnion to deliver scalable, customer-focused AI solutions through a platform-as-a-service approach.

  • Define and deliver a strategic vision for AI platform enablement, ensuring capabilities are built with modern engineering practices, seamless integration, automation, and self-service implementation.

  • Partner extensively with product management teams to shape customer-focused strategies, roadmaps, and execution plans that translate business needs into platform capabilities.

  • Architect, design, and develop AI platform capabilities that support TransUnion’s operations and enable teams to build world-class AI-enabled solutions for customers.

  • Lead mid-sized engineering teams in delivering highly scalable, reliable systems with strong engineering practices embedded into every implementation.

  • Translate business strategy into extensible frameworks and architectures that help customers accomplish work more quickly, easily, cost-effectively, and through self-service enabled approaches.

  • Partner with solution owners, market owners, and product owners to balance immediate client opportunities with the long-term objective of creating stable, scalable platform and technology capabilities.

  • Collaborate with business executives, architecture, delivery, and product teams to define and execute TransUnion’s AI platform architectural strategy.

  • Lead technology leaders, managers, and advanced engineers in building critical platform capabilities and enabling business applications that leverage those capabilities.

  • As needed, support server administration in cloud environments and implementation of security controls defined by TransUnion’s cybersecurity team.

Required Knowledge and Experiences
  • Deep experience with modern AI technologies and agentic design patterns, with the ability to apply these capabilities to modernize platforms and enable new customer solutions.

  • Proven experience architecting, designing, and developing AI platform capabilities that can be leveraged across business and technology teams.

  • Experience transforming and leading high-talent technology organizations that deliver critical business value through a platform-based technology approach.

  • Strong ability to connect business strategy to technology execution, including translating the “why” and “what” into engineering approaches that define the “how.”

  • Demonstrated success leading global organizational change, balancing business requirements with IT initiatives, providing technical leadership, and managing execution of critical initiatives.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, including experience leading architecture discussions with global teams operating in Agile/Scrum delivery models.

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, with 15+ years of experience in strong technical engineering environments.

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications across private and public cloud hosting environments.

  • Deep understanding of AI platform architecture, including scalable frameworks, reusable capabilities, automation, integration patterns, and self-service implementation models.

  • Strong knowledge of modern engineering practices required to build scalable, reliable, secure, and extensible systems.

  • Ability to apply Human-Centered Design techniques to create intuitive and effective customer experiences.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate strategy across large organizations and influence stakeholders to align behind shared objectives.

Pay Scale Information:

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $168,750.00 - $281,250 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
