Job Description:

Job Purpose 

The Accelerator Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and quality of the Business Unit’s financial statements. This role leads Accounting and reporting activities, drives strong period-close processes, and ensures reporting requirements are met for the Mars Snacking segment and Mars, Inc. Further, this individual is the primary owner of the relationship with internal and external auditors for the Business unit.    

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, Master's degree preferred 
  • CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting or financial audit experience required
  • SAP or equivalent ERP system experience preferred
  • Experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry required
  • Experience leading teams, including talent development and succession planning required
  • Expertise in technical accounting, financial processes, and internal controls required
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced business environment required

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead a diverse team of Accounting and Reporting associates, with accountability for talent development, performance, and succession planning. 
  • Oversee periodic financial reviews to ensure the quality, completeness, and accuracy of financial statements. 
  • Implement new accounting standards and Finance Manual guidelines cross-functionally, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment across the Region. 
  • Set the tone for strong governance and controls execution, ensuring effective compliance with internal policies and control requirements. 
  • Certify and report financial results and control execution for senior management at Mars, Inc. and Mars Snacking Global. 
  • Partner with PwC and Internal Audit to support efficient, effective, and clean external and internal audit outcomes. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and drive greater efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. 
  • Manage performance between MGS-F/ICTC and the Region, driving accountability and continuous improvement across stakeholders. 
  • Serve as a member of the Region’s Finance Leadership Team and contribute to broader finance strategy and decision-making.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 169,840.00 - USD 233,530.00
