Job Summary

This position is responsible for participating in implementation, maintenance and basic analysis of models, studies and systems which use actuarial principles for the purposes of pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions; running, building and analyzing results of basic models; developing oral and written presentation skills; and learning basic business and actuarial concepts.

What Do You Need To Be Successful?

  • Preferred: Actuarial internship or actuarial experience in health insurance or related field
  • Verbal and written communication skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations
  • PC proficiency to include Word and Excel
  • Access, SQL, Visual Basic or other preferred programming skills

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or another related quantitative field
  • Graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States (We are not sponsoring work visas for this role)
  • Completion of 1 ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) exam equivalent based on specifications in the Society of Actuaries Education and Examination System

What Does the New Grad Program Entail?

New graduate Actuarial Analysts will participate in the Actuarial Student Program for role-specific technical and professional development. They will also participate in HCSC’s six-month Enterprise New Grad Program, which provides broader business exposure and supports the transition from college to the workplace.

  • Formal New Employee Orientation to build business and industry acumen
  • Professional development sessions focused on workplace readiness, communication, relationship building and career growth
  • Exposure to HCSC business areas, leaders and career paths
  • Networking and shared learning with new graduate peers across the enterprise
  • Approximately four hours of virtual programming each month during the six-month program

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Flex employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. Management will have discretion to modify an employee's weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Base Pay Range$57,500.00 - $103,800.00

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
