Job Summary

This role participates in a 12-month Leadership Development Program in the health care payer space. The program builds a foundation in strategic thinking, communication, leadership and project management. Participants gain hands-on experience supporting strategic projects across multiple business and functional areas. Depending on placement, work may include Value Based Care, Pharmacy, Network Strategy, Individual and Family Markets and related enterprise priorities.

  • Formal and informal networking across multiple functional areas.
  • Exposure to multiple business areas and health care priorities.
  • Opportunities to develop innovative approaches to health care challenges.

  • Project work throughout a highly matrixed organization.
  • Exposure to the operations of a large and diverse organization.

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

  • Currently pursuing an MHA, MHSA, MPH, MS-HSM, MBA or similar master’s degree with an interest in health care management and strategic planning.
  • Graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. We are not offering this program under OPT or CPT or sponsoring work visas for these roles.
  • Project management skills, including strong organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience interacting with personnel across departments and at various levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning techniques and industry trends.
  • Experience with analytics and information synthesis.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office products.

  • Preferred: health insurance or health care industry experience or a strong interest in the industry.

What Does the New Grad Program Entail?

Participants hired into the Leadership Development Program also participate in HCSC’s enterprise New Grad experience, which complements role-specific development during their first year.

  • Formal New Employee Orientation to build business and industry acumen.
  • A six-month enterprise development experience designed to support the transition from school to the workplace.
  • Professional development focused on communication, relationship building, navigating workplace challenges, critical thinking and career growth.
  • Opportunities to connect with peers and company leaders across HCSC.
  • Meaningful role-specific work and development through the 12-month Leadership Development Program.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Flex employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. Management will have discretion to modify an employee's weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Base Pay Range$63,300.00 - $114,300.00
