Bloom Books is revolutionizing romance publishing—and we’re looking for an Editor to help us take our authors and their stories to the next level.

As one of the fastest-growing imprints in the industry, Bloom Books has built a market-leading, author-first approach that delivers unforgettable stories to devoted readers. If you are a passionate, hands-on editor with deep experience in shaping commercially successful fiction—and you love romance (including the spicy kind!)—this is an incredible opportunity to work closely with bestselling and breakout authors to craft books that readers can’t put down.

The Editor, Bloom Books and Bloom YA will acquire, edit, and manage both adult fiction and young adult authors. Bloom Books has experienced mind-blowing growth in the last two years with our adult fiction and we are excited to both continue to expand our adult fiction list AND expand more heavily into YA. This role is a great fit for you if you are a fan of romance (and spice!), have a commercial and business-minded approach to building a list, are flexible in both learning processes and knowing how and when to work outside of them, and truly believe in the power of books to change lives!  We are bold. We are Bloom.

This is an exempt salaried position at $55,000 - $70,000/year.  This range is based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, location, training, and education.  This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.

What You'll Do:

  • With the Editorial Director, responsible for long-range planning and list management of Bloom Books and Bloom YA

  • Develop manuscripts for content, structure, and positioning
  • Work closely with publicity, marketing, and sales division on matters relating to sales and opportunities
  • Develop strategic alliances and create new initiatives for product acquisition, marketing initiatives and sales opportunities

What You Bring:

  • Have 5+ years of publishing experience

  • Play well with others. Seriously, we’re a hard-working team who also happen to be pretty nice.
  • Juggle and coordinate. We want a clear communicator who is detail-oriented, organized and can keep short- and long-term projects on schedules while following through on deadlines.
  • Love books. This is a must.
