Our Custom Solutions Publishing Group is looking for an Editorial Assistant to support editorial, production, and digital media work across a range of custom publishing projects. In this role, you'll help keep manuscripts, permissions tracking, and digital media assets moving smoothly from development through delivery.
You'll collaborate closely with the Custom Solutions team, providing the editorial and production support that keeps projects on schedule and audience-ready.
Scope of Services- You'll prepare and format manuscripts, including creating front matter and tables of contents for custom publishing projects.
- You'll conduct photo research and compile informational spreadsheets to support production tracking.
- You'll proofread manuscripts and course materials for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style standards.
- You'll track permissions invoices and approvals, and provide additional permissions support as needed.
- You'll set up and maintain Jira tickets to support project management and status tracking.
- You'll support ePub publication, including reviewing and testing ePub files for quality.
- You'll create online assessment questions and test banks, compile PDF eBook files, and review courseware for quality assurance.
- You'll assist with related administrative tasks, including distributing ISBNs and updating reports and tracking documentation.
- Production-Ready Manuscripts: Formatted manuscripts, front matter, and tables of contents prepared to custom publishing standards.
- Permissions & Project Tracking: Up-to-date permissions invoice tracking, approvals documentation, and Jira ticket records reflecting current project status.
- Digital Media Assets: Tested ePub files, compiled PDF eBooks, and online assessment/test bank content meeting quality standards.
- QA & Metadata Records: Courseware review notes, maintained project files, and accurate metadata supporting production continuity.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and close attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and quality review.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of clear, professional collaboration.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal oversight.
- Prior book publishing experience.
- Familiarity with website development or the digital design process.
- Bachelor's degree, with a preference for English or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience (student internships considered).
