About Re:Build

At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.

We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.

The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles)

Who we are looking for

The Enterprise Architect is a senior technology leader responsible for defining, governing, and realizing the organization’s enterprise architecture across Business, Data, Application, and Technology/Platform domains. This role ensures strategic business objectives are translated into cohesive, implementable architectures that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost‑effective. This individual collaborates closely with business and process leaders and technical teams to deliver measurable outcomes. The role brings to bear artificial intelligence (AI) to improve architectural analysis, accelerate decision‑making, and improve execution efficiency—while ensuring responsible and compliant AI adoption.

What you get to do

  • Business Architecture
    • Define, maintain, and communicate capability maps, value streams, process models, and organizational impact assessments.
    • Align architecture plans with business outcomes, benefits, and important metrics; ensure traceability from strategy to delivery.
  • Data Architecture
    • Establish enterprise data principles, domain models, integration patterns, governance frameworks, and data quality standards.
    • Architect data platforms supporting analytics, AI/machine learning, and real‑time decisioning (e.g., streaming, event processing).
    • Define data ownership, stewardship, lineage, privacy, and security practices with data leaders and compliance teams.
    • Ensure data designs enable responsible AI (model governance, bias monitoring, explainability, and auditability).
  • Application Architecture
    • Define target‑state application architecture emphasizing modularity/replaceability, interoperability, scalability, and lifecycle sustainability.
    • Promote API‑first, AI-native, cloud‑native, event‑driven, and reusable component patterns; guide microservices boundaries and domain design.
  • Technology Architecture
    • Create blueprints for platforms/solutions, infrastructure, integration layers, and cloud environments (hybrid/multi‑cloud as applicable).
    • Ensure patterns support DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, automation, resilience, and security‑by‑design.
    • Lead platform and vendor evaluations aligned to principles, requirements, total cost of ownership (TCO), and business value.
  • Governance and Standards
    • Establish and maintain enterprise architecture policies, standards, reference architectures, patterns, models, roadmaps, and guardrails.
    • Lead architecture review boards and initiative checkpoints; implement compliance and handle exceptions responsibly.
    • Provide structured guidance on build‑vs‑buy decisions, risk trade‑offs, and technical debt management.
  • Embed zero‑trust, security‑by‑design, and regulatory requirements (privacy, audit, industry standards) into architecture patterns.
  • Conduct threat modeling and resilience planning; define strategies for continuity, disaster recovery, reliability, and supply‑chain security.
  • Build roadmaps using current and target models driven from impact and gap analysis activities.
  • Translate roadmaps into actionable implementation plans, epics, and achievements with clear acceptance criteria and measurable business value.
  • Rationalize the application portfolio; eliminate redundancies, reduce technical debt, and lead modernization/migration paths.
  • Artificial Intelligence
    • Use AI tools to model dependencies, identify risks, estimate impact, and optimize designs; apply AI for architectural telemetry and pattern detection.
    • Employ generative AI to accelerate documentation, standards creation, scenario modeling, solution design assistance, and governance workflows.
    • Define architectural patterns and guardrails for responsible enterprise AI, including data requirements, MLOps, model lifecycle, and compliance.
  • Execution Optimization
    • Drive innovative realization approaches to shorten cycle time.
    • Guide delivery teams through design, build, and release; make timely architectural decisions and remove blockers.
    • Track execution against architecture objectives; identify deviations and lead corrective actions to restore alignment without sacrificing throughput.
    • Validate post‑implementation outcomes to confirm design intent, security/compliance, and time‑to‑value realization.
    • Champion methods, tools, and architectures that continuously reduce time-to-market.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on modernization, platform strategy, and enterprise capability evolution.
  • Mentor architects, engineers, analysts, and product leaders to elevate architectural maturity and delivery excellence. Ability to unify teams and drive effective and efficient decision making through the mastery of influence.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, shared problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.

What you bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise, solution, data, application, or platform architecture.
  • Pragmatic application of EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Solid understanding of business systems (ERP, MES, CAD, PLM, QMS, etc.), cloud platforms, distributed systems, integration frameworks, and modern application design.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML, data architectures, and modern security frameworks.
  • Consistent track record to lead and realize large‑scale transformation or modernization initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, and collaborator leadership skills across corporate and technological audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid architectures.
    • Exposure to product-centric operating models, focused build approaches, and platform engineering.
    • Experience in regulated government or global enterprise environments.
    • Experience in manufacturing environments and processes.
    • Familiar with Lean manufacturing processes.
