Job Description

 

Overview

The Director, Finance serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership and a key driver of financial insight, operational performance, and enterprise transformation. This role goes beyond traditional finance responsibilities, combining advanced analytics, AI-enabled decision support, and executive communication to guide the organization’s strategic direction.

 

The Director, Finance will partner cross-functionally across the business to provide financial insight that drives performance and strategic decision-making. This individual will also play a critical role in developing board- and private-equity-ready financial insights and reporting, while advancing the organization’s data, automation, and AI capabilities within the finance function and across the enterprise.

 

This position requires a forward-thinking finance leader who is both analytically rigorous and highly collaborative.

Minimum required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Preferred: MBA and/or CPA

Span of Control:

Reports to: CFO

Oversight:  This position has could have 1-5 direct reports

Roles/ Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership and business unit leaders.
  • Partner with commercial, operational, and product teams to drive profitable growth and informed decision-making.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead financial evaluation of strategic initiatives, investments, pricing strategies, and new business opportunities.

Financial Analysis & Business Insights

  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models and analytical frameworks to evaluate business performance and strategic opportunities.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through deep financial and operational analysis.
  • Build executive dashboards and metrics that provide clear visibility into key drivers of performance.
  • Partner with functional leaders to improve data quality, reporting clarity, and performance measurement.

Board & Private Equity Reporting

  • Prepare high-quality board and investor reporting packages, including financial performance analysis, key metrics, and strategic insights.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders to communicate company performance and business drivers.
  • Ensure reporting is clear, concise, and tailored for executive and investor-level decision-making.
  • Support leadership in developing strategic narratives and insights for board discussions.

AI, Automation & Finance Transformation

  • Champion the use of AI, advanced analytics, and automation within finance and across the enterprise.
  • Identify opportunities to improve decision intelligence, reporting efficiency, and forecasting insights through modern technologies.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance data-driven decision-making and operational agility.
  • Partner with technology and data teams to strengthen financial data infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and analytics tools.

Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a finance thought leader and change agent, helping the organization evolve toward more data-driven decision-making.
  • Influence cross-functional leaders through insightful analysis and clear financial storytelling.
  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications

Minimum required:

  • 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience in strategic finance, analytics, or business partnering roles.
  • Experience working in private equity-backed, high-growth, or transformation environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create executive-level and board-ready financial presentations.
  • Strong experience with financial modeling, business analytics, and performance analysis.
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic business partner to operational leaders.
  • Experience leveraging data analytics, automation, or AI tools to improve finance insights and decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights.

Physical Demands/  Travel required

Work associated with this position is sedentary in nature and performed indoors at a desk either remotely or in an office setting.

Travel for this position is less than 10%.
