Summary:

Goldschmitt and Associates is seeking an experienced FOIA Analyst for a position that is currently remote. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of the FOIA and experience to process complex FOIA requests cradle to grave for a federal agency
  • With limited supervision, the FOIA Analyst shall review, organize, and analyze documents for production in response to FOIA requests, including determining responsive records, identifying confidential business information, intra-agency, pre-decisional and deliberative information or attorney work product, and personal identifiable information

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Possess strong research and analytical skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks within specified deadlines
  • Possess working knowledge of personal computers and software (Microsoft Word and Adobe)
  • Possess knowledge of the FOIA, its procedural requirements, and application of FOIA Exemptions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent amount of experience per the GSA schedule
  • Possess at least five (5) years of technical experience in processing complex information requests under the FOIA
  • Possess demonstrated experience and knowledge of FOIA rules, regulations, and all 9 exemptions, including having specifically applied exemptions b(4), b(5), b(6), and b(7)
  • Possess prior experience and proficiency in managing and processing FOIA requests in the FOIAXpress software system
  • Possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
