Job Summary & Responsibilities

Position Overview

RJW Logistics Group is a PE-backed, high-growth third-party logistics provider operating across warehousing, transportation, and value-added services. As we continue to scale, we are building the finance function to match our ambitions — and this role sits at the center of that effort.

The Manager of FP&A will be a sharp, analytically-driven finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-rich environment. You will own the forecasting and margin analysis processes for our logistics entity, partnering directly with operations and senior leadership to drive financial performance. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to C-suite — and a clear path to grow with the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting process — with a particular focus on COGS, gross margin, and operational cost drivers
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models that capture volume, mix, pricing, fuel surcharge, and productivity levers across the P&L
  • Perform deep-dive margin analysis: identify compression or expansion drivers, quantify impacts, and translate findings into clear (think bridges) narratives for senior leadership
  • Own the weekly and monthly reporting process for LOG — package results, variances, and forward-looking commentary into executive-ready deliverables
  • Partner with operations to develop bottoms-up cost forecasts grounded in real business activity
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requirements for various projects
  • Continuously improve the FP&A LOG infrastructure — models, processes, and reporting tools — to scale with business complexity
  • Serve as a thought partner to finance and operations leadership on strategic and operational questions

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in COGS and gross margin forecasting; you understand the mechanics of margin and can build models that reflect operational reality
  • Exceptional analytical instincts — you ask the right questions, follow the data, and can articulate what the numbers are actually saying
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity; you don't just report what happened, you want to understand why
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel; familiarity with Power BI or Claude or other AI tools is a plus
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with senior leadership — you can synthesize complex analysis into clear, concise storylines

  • Comfortable working in a PE-backed environment where pace, precision, and accountability are the standard

Education and Experience

  • ~4 years of FP&A, corporate FP&A/Finance, or related analytical experience — ideally within logistics, distribution, or a similarly operationally complex industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
  • Direct, recurring exposure to C-suite executives
  • Ownership of critical financial processes from day one — not support work, but the real thing
  • A clear trajectory toward Senior Manager and up as the business scales
  • A collaborative, intellectually demanding team that values rigor and rewards curiosity
