Euromonitor International is a global market intelligence company that partners with businesses to provide them with the data and information needed to better inform their strategic decisions. We have offices around the world and in-country analysts in 80+ countries. Through this global presence, we are able to provide cross-country comparable data and analysis.  


Euromonitor primarily delivers market research solutions via a syndicated database with annually updated industry information and custom consulting projects. Interns will be introduced to both types of solutions and will have the opportunity to support custom consulting research initiatives. Ideal candidates will be self-starting, autonomous individuals, excited by the prospect and challenge of being part of a global research organization. 


Why Euromonitor 


The internship role is central to Euromonitor’s continued growth and expansion. As such, making this experience valuable for participating students is a top priority. During this paid, 10-week internship, interns will be exposed to all aspects of the research process and given numerous opportunities to contribute directly to ongoing syndicated and consulting research projects. Target start date is June 10.

Through this process, interns can expect to: 

  • Develop a strong knowledge of Euromonitor’s methodology and resources 
  • Gain exposure to a wide array of research project and methodology types 
  • Build a solid understanding of the project management process 
  • Become familiar with how to prepare client deliverables and engage in client meetings 
  • Cultivate a familiarity with global market research and global business in general 


Key responsibilities 

Research 

  • Assisting to build research documents and project templates, brainstorming effective research structures and approaches 
  • Leveraging in-house resources and externally published information to more clearly understand the market and companies under review 
  • Conducting store audits (collecting data on existing brands/manufacturers, product pricing/promotion/shelf space, etc.) to complement primary research 
  • Conducting interviews with trade associations, leading companies, and internal Euromonitor associates to gain insights into specific research objectives 
  • Preparation of market summaries for industry sources to encourage participation 

Analysis 

  • Working closely with research associates on project planning, briefing, research, calculations, and finalization checks 
  • Validating market data, including integrity of company and brand information 
  • Preparation and writing of company/industry reports and/or management summaries 
  • Scrutinizing data proactively and as a result of client queries 
  • Identifying key insights and developing executive-level reports 

Client Communication 

  • Assisting in the preparation of client emails, briefing documents, and delivery documents 
  • Shadowing client calls and project updates 
  • Presenting project findings and takeaways (where an opportunity may allow) 


Requirements
  • Rising juniors or seniors enrolled in a 4-year university or college -OR- 
  • Graduate students continuing their education in the autumn 
  • Naturally curious and inquisitive with a strong desire to learn 
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills  
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Other languages (i.e. Portuguese, Spanish) an advantage 
  • Extreme attention to detail 
  • Interest in consumer markets trends and dynamics 
  • Interest in global business 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines 
  • Interns will be expected to be in the office three days each week
