The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that all imports and exports adhere to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade laws.  By maintaining accurate classifications and working closely with internal/external logistics partners, this role minimizes the risk of shipment delays, maintains compliance with applicable standards, and identifies opportunities for duty savings, making a positive impact on both operational efficiency and cost performance.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in international logistics, customs brokerage, or a corporate trade compliance environment.
  • Familiarity with the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal, related reporting tools, and entry summary processes.
  • Solid understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and the ability to defend classifications under audit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data filtering/cleansing, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) to manipulate, assess, and summarize large data sets.
  • High level of awareness and curiosity related to global news and policy shifts.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Highly organized with a strong audit mindset; capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously; excellent written communication skills for documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs); and a high level of integrity when dealing with sensitive data.
  • Certifications (Optional): Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or progress toward a U.S. Customs Broker License is a plus but not required.

Some key advantages of working at Yaskawa include: career opportunities in diverse areas, a highly competitive benefit package, including a generous 401(K) plan, profit sharing, corporate wide bonus plan and educational assistance program offering up to $10,000 a year for graduate courses.
