The Senior Principal HR Consultant partners closely with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee development and engagement in order to both deliver transformative change and exceed business objectives. Leads cyclical talent programs in their assigned business unit, driving business ownership with strong facilitation and support. Acts as a change champion in partnering with the business on key people changes and transformation programs to support technology’s strategic objectives. Partners with HR Centers of Excellence to provide business perspective into new programs and implementation strategies. Leverages insights into data driven people recommendations that improve performance, retention, and the overall employee experience.
The successful candidate will be a part of the core leadership team for their assigned area(s) and provide coaching and counsel to senior leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Advise the business and translate business objectives into human resources strategies that drive business results.
- Ensure talent needs and concerns and organizational effectiveness is addressed.
- Enhance human resources practices that allow the company to attract, develop, reward, and retain talent.
How You’ll Do It
- Consult on and develop strategies for improving employee engagement.
- Partner with the business to define goals and objectives. Develop and implement human resources strategies to support business plans, including workforce planning and talent strategies.
- Consult with business leadership on identifying, developing, assessing, and managing talent.
- Support change management and organizational redesign efforts.
- Design and implement human resources solutions to solve strategic business challenges.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in human resources consulting, human resources business partner, talent management, or related experience
- In lieu of a degree, 15+ years of experience in human resources consulting, human resources business partner, talent management, or related field
Bonus Points If You Have
- Master's degree in human resources, organizational development, or related field
- 4+ years of primary experience consulting with executive or senior leadership
- PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
- 4+ years’ experience working with senior level leadership (VP+)
- Proven experience in proactively coaching leaders and providing strategic guidance on complex people management issues and strategies (org design, talent mobility, change, and leadership development)
- Superior communication skills – convey confidence, empathy and trust via candor and diplomacy to build effective relationships with senior leaders
- Ability to operate with autonomy and discretion
- Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities/projects with the ability to adapt
- Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across HR disciplines and the business
