Summary

Partners   with local business unit leader (General Manager/GM) to develop and execute   comprehensive Human Resource program, including talent sourcing, recruiting,   development and deployment. Supports   GM to identify talent and staffing needs. Provide direct support for the administrative portion of the safety   system. 


Key Responsibilities 
  1. Responsible for all phases of employment at sites for which she/he is responsible, including  advertising, recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement, orientation, training,and development of associates, exit interviews and unemployment      compensation hearings.
  2. Serves as a business partner and  advisor to the GM and BU management team for all employee relations and  workforce planning activities.
  3. Reviews applications, performs references checks and employment verifications. Establishes and maintains qualification standards for all positions.
  4. Serves as the primary source of contact to facility managers and employees on all human resource related matters.
  5. Primarily responsible for on-site  employee engagement and addressing employee concerns and needs. 
  6. Responsible for local compliance  to work rules, policies, and procedures.
  7. Support the recruiting, orientation training and development of production and non-exempt associates. Conducts new associate orientations, including general orientation and safety orientation. 
  8. Implements and annually updates compensation programs, rewrites job descriptions as necessary, analyzes compensation, monitors performance review process. 
  9. Responsible for overseeing the progressive discipline and performance improvements plans for select associates. Works closely with corporate Human Resources for litigation and risk mitigation. 
  10. Sets up and maintains tracking  systems for performance reviews, vacations, and company metrics such as  turnover statistics.
  11. Ensures accurate, efficient, and timely completion of HR-related metrics and reporting.
  12. Supports site benefits and  insurance administration; works closely with Group Compensation & Benefits Administrator.
  13. Is a key resource for specific HR projects and supporting the Global HR team.
  14. Maintains strict confidentiality  of files, salaries, and other information of a business or personal nature.
  15. Stays current of changes in  federal, state, and local employment laws, and ensures locations are in full compliance. Serves as the  primary advisor to the BU GM for all HR compliance related topics. 
  16. Comply with company policies and procedures.
  17. Proficient in Microsoft-based  applications and HRIS platform (currently Paycor).
  18. Comply with  company policies and procedures.
  19. Responsible for workers  compensation administration, management of claims processes, and  compliance. Work closely with corporate Human Resources on WC risk mitigation. 
  20.  Support effective communication with Spanish-speaking employees by assisting with training, work instructions, and day-to-day operational communication, as needed. 
  21. Safety administration &  Support
    • Responsible for  safety system document and data control and training record administration. This will include safety policies, procedures, work instructions, and training  programs. 
    • Oversees and  administers all safety related communications, including signage, bulletins, safety orientation, and safety communication roll outs. 
    • Responsible for all incident tracking and data management.
    • Oversees the emergency response program, First Responders (CPR and First Aid), and  Blood Born Pathogens.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in   Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related field required.
  • Five years of human resources or equivalent experience in a  manufacturing environment required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple  work assignments and job-related requests under strict time constraints.
  • Must   be capable of working independently and taking the initiative to resolve issues in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. Excellent problem solving and leadership skills.  
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and coworkers in both languages.  
  • Solid knowledge of labor laws  affecting employment practices. Proficient in Microsoft Office,  and HRIS.
  • Specific knowledge of Paylocity(current Welch HRIS) is a plus.
  • Very limited overnight travel.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials during the workday. The employee may occasionally have to climb ladders and work from heights. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses (with Side Shields), mandatory hearing protection and steel-toed shoes. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
