The Advanced Systems Group Manager will report to the Schaumburg, IL facility and strongly support the Sales organization plus work closely with each of the Product Divisions in developing advanced controls and fluid power systems including equipment/ vehicle automation and electrification. This position will manage a group of multi-disciplined engineers developing solutions for customers and be responsible for the technical and commercial viability of the group and the solutions they develop.

You will make an impact in this role by:

  • Develop our system solutions strategy including technology roadmap for equipment/ vehicle automation and electrification.
  • Oversee and manage group of multi-disciplined engineers, technicians and project managers.
  • Develop and implement process and documentation for managing the development of systems.
  • Responsible for the commercial viability of the group and their solutions.
  • Serve as the Technology Liaison with Germany and will lead the technology transfer between the HYDAC Germany systems group and the HYDAC USA system group.
  • Responsible for developing standard advanced systems and subsystem integrating our different product groups (i.e. – steer by wire solutions).
  • Work with divisions regarding productionization of developed systems.
  • Provide Voice of Customer (VoC) to our Product Divisions for new product development.
  • Represent HYDAC with customers and accompany Sales Managers to customer locations selling our technology and advanced systems.
  • Responsible for developing marketing content around our systems solution.
  • Provide feedback, training and processes to Application Engineers-Systems in the sales organization that are located in the region.
  • Aid the Application Engineer-Systems in the sales organization on advanced technology and system solutions.
  • Develop advanced solutions for selected customers including discovery, requirements documentation, system design, debugging, installation and valid testing.
  • Present TecDay modules to our customer base.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage and lead a technical group of engineers, technicians and project managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow sales in a designated territory.
  • Strong business accruement.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to use the Internet, Project Management software, spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Ability to set goals and objectives for their team based on strategic direction.
  • Willingness to travel.

To be considered for the Advanced Systems Group Manager role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience developing electrohydraulic solutions.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience.
  • Experience putting together vehicle control architecture preferred.
  • Experience working with customers on system projects required.

Salary is commiserated with experience, and compensation for this position is between $150,000-170,000. HYDAC offers employees a comprehensive medical/dental/vision plan, paid holidays, PTO, 401k with company matching, FSA account, short term disability and life insurance, and pet insurance.
