Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare project plans for assigned projects including, but not limited to, estimating costs, timescales and resource requirements. Collaborate with project sponsors and the various business and IT groups to ensure success.

• Execute on project plan to achieve project benefits. Manage project scope and ensure that relevant deliverables are completed on time, on budget and that expectations for quality are met.  

• Develop and establish regular communication methods with project stakeholders. Prepare for and facilitate project core team and steering committee meetings.

• Develop detailed project budget, monitor actuals and report actuals and forecast on a monthly basis.

• Document and manage project issues and risks and ensure action plans and appropriate ownership is in place for resolution. Recognize when efforts are not progressing as expected and address accordingly. Facilitate escalation when required to resolve time-sensitive or critical issues.

• Provide oversight to development and execution of project communications and project training plans. Ensure training and communication deliverables are completed and information is delivered in crisp, clear, concise manner relevant to targeted audiences.

• Prepare and distribute project status reports.

• Leverage relevant standards, guidelines and procedures for the project and ensures that relevant standards are followed. Ensure that required USG project deliverables are incorporated into the project plan and appropriate reviewers have approved the deliverables.

• Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

Qualifications

 Required Skills

• 3-5+ years leading projects in a Project Manager role.

• Experience managing a project team of 5-10+ people with $500K-$2M budget.

• Expert in Microsoft Office suite of standard desktop software and MS Project

• Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management. Must be able to deliver engaging, well-organized and informative presentations.

• Strong facilitation skills. Must be able to gather input from various team members across organizational and geographical boundaries.

• Must be able to motivate project team members toward a common goal, especially under challenging circumstances

• Understands the financial implications of decisions and requests 

• Proven experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholders.

• Must be able to work under minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals

Preferred Skills:

• Manufacturing industry experience

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
