In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as a key participant in overseeing lending activities for a wholesale banking business and geographic market
- Review and research complex multifaceted, large scale, and long term business challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
- Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects and teams or serve as a peer mentor
- 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience in Government lending sectors
- Ability to quickly evaluate direct and operating exposure situations on short deadlines driven by the RFP process
- Advanced credit structuring and portfolio analysis skills, with ability to evaluate complex and unique lending situations
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Credit, Risk, Relationship Management, and Operations
- Strong understanding of commercial credit policy, regulatory considerations, and municipal risk rating methodologies
- Proven ability to mentor and guide peers or junior portfolio managers in underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, and credit decisioning
- Strong communication skills, with ability to present complex credit findings and recommendations to leaders and credit partners
- Strong understanding of municipal credit facilities, terms, documentation and current market conditions
- Advanced working relationship with internal and outside bank counsel
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
