Acting as a trusted advisor and Workday expert, the HRIS Lead owns complex initiatives on the HRIS roadmap, drives system strategy, and mentors other HRIS team members.

Job Description and Requirements

  • Serve as a primary Workday subject matter expert, providing guidance on configuration, optimization, and best practices across HR domains.

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable system solutions, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts.

  • Lead resolution of highly complex HRIS issues, including root cause analysis, system design decisions, and long‑term corrective solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership for annual and enterprise‑wide HR programs (e.g., performance management, promotions, compliance reporting, payroll year‑end).

  • Establish and maintain high‑quality system documentation, standards, and reporting frameworks to support scale and consistency.

  • Mentor and guide HRIS analysts through knowledge sharing, design reviews, and best‑practice coaching, without direct people management responsibility.

  • Build expertise in Workday Extend and guide the evaluation, design, governance, and deployment of applications and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands‑on Workday experience, including advanced knowledge of two or more Workday modules.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex HRIS or enterprise system initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, data governance, security concepts, and systems architecture.

  • Experience with reporting, testing, security design, and process automation within HR technology platforms.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging Workday technologies, including Workday Extend and Workday AI capabilities.

  • Experience with system implementations in a global or fast‑paced technology environment.

  • Working knowledge of applying regional data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) within HR systems.
