Trueline, representing a nationally recognized Am Law firm with a strong commercial litigation practice, is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join its litigation team in Chicago, IL. What You'll Do as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to a team of commercial litigation attorneys
- Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and court filings
- Prepare and electronically file documents in state and federal courts
- Maintain and organize electronic case files using document management software
- Review court orders and pleadings and coordinate docketing requests
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements
- Process time entries, assist with billing, expense reports, and accounts receivable activities
- Open and close client matters, prepare engagement documents, and assist with conflict checks
- Coordinate incoming mail, correspondence, and other administrative workflows
- Serve as a dependable resource to attorneys and team members while meeting critical litigation deadlines
Must-Haves as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- 3-5 years of experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment
- At least 3 years of civil litigation experience involving state and federal courts
- Experience with electronic court filing systems
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Professional demeanor and commitment to outstanding client service
Nice-to-Haves as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Experience with NetDocuments, NetDocs, or similar document management systems
- Familiarity with legal docketing software
- Experience supporting commercial litigation attorneys
